Alexander McCall Smith is the author of the international phenomenon The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, the Isabel Dalhousie Series, the Portuguese Irregular Verbs series, and the 44 Scotland Street series. He is professor emeritus of medical law at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and has served on many national and international bodies concerned with bioethics. He was born in what is now known as Zimbabwe and he was a law professor at the University of Botswana. He lives in Scotland. Det handla om två barn som hade en mamma som ville att dom skulle äta konstig mat och så vinner dom en tävling dom kommer hem smutsiga och hennes mamma blir gift med spaggettidirektören

Kalau semua pabrik pemiliknya kayak Mister Pipelli kayaknya memang bisa jadi tempat membahagiakan, deh.

A book so bad, the author has disowned it!
Warning: Don’t read this book if you’re hungry! and even if your not, you will be craving spaghetti before the book’s end.
A children’s book for 5 to 8 year olds, about spaghetti is a brilliant idea. Unfortunately negative character stereotypes make this book painful to read. While I appreciate that children’s characters are better exaggerated, the Aunt’s character, based on her bad love life (for reasons not essential to the plot) is insulting to women and sends a poor message to any child reading this book. The spaghetti factory owner is, of course, Italian and again is written as a stereotype. This book was written in 2005 and it feels old. This book is not even listed on Alexander McCall Smith’s own site!

" gerçekten iyi her lokantada bir kural vardır: hiç kimse aç gönderilmez." çok tatlıydı, okurken acıktım. serinin diğer üç kitabını da okumam lazım

gimana rasanya gak pernah makan spageti seumur2? begitulah yang dirasakan John dan Nicky yang tinggal bersama Bibi Rebecca-nya. Kedua orangtua John dan Nicky sedang pergi mengelilingi dunia untuk mencari gunung berapi dan memperingatkan orang-orang yang di tinggal di sekitar gunung itu. sungguh pekerjaan yang mulia...
Nah, Bibi Rebecca ini anggota Liga Kacang dan Wortel, jadi makanan John dan Nicky tiap hari itu kalo gak wortel rebus, bawang mentah doang tanpa apa-apa, rumput laut rebus, pokoknya yang sehat2. Suatu hari Nicky dapet cek dari pamannya sebagai hadiah ultah. Nah, mereka berdua pergi ke restoran dan karena uangnya gak cukup, jadi pelayannya yang baik hati ngasi spageti buat mereka. pas nyampe di rumah, di koran ada lomba dari Mr. Pipelli, pemilik perusahaan spageti yang terkenal. Lombanya siapa aja harus mengirimkan resep spageti kesukaan mereka, yang menang bakal diundang ke pabrik spageti Mr. Pipelli. Jadi John dan Nicky minta resep ke restoran waktu itu, dan pelayannya bilang klo koki di situ juga bakal kirim resepnya. ternyata yang menang si koki, tapi gak bisa pergi, trus dia minta John sama Nicky yang pergi. Akhirnya mereka berdua pergi ke pabrik spageti dan terjadilah insiden spageti kusut itu :D... selain itu, mereka disuguhi enam macam spageti (jadi ngiler pengen makan spageti) hahahaha...
Akhirnya happy ending pastinya... :D
