Hi everyone! I'm a lifelong book lover, and when I was a kid, books saved my life. I was so lonely, but when I held a book and travelled to the place where those characters lived, I was somewhere else, where I had friends. I recently encountered a character like me, Abigail, in TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED by Chelsea Sedoti. Isn't it exciting to find a piece of yourself in a book?
There's a piece of myself in all of my books, no matter the genre. Yes, I write in several genres, much to the dismay of my editors and, often, to myself. But I love literature, and my muse cannot be confined to one type of story. And no matter the "label", all books have humanity in common. I write about humanity. I want to understand the un-understandable. I want to explore dark thoughts and darker intentions. I want to know why people hurt each other. And while the rational part of me knows this is impossible, the irrational writer part of me keeps trying, one manuscript at a time.
Now more than ever, it is important to focus on emotional health. Are you struggling to find your happiness? Then this book is for you. Follow a writer, a psychologist and 24 experts as they unlock the keys to finding your happiness. I found this book easy to understand, the steps easy to follow and the ideas applicable to what we are all experiencing right now as we transition to our new normal. I highly recommend this book!
I thought it was interesting and helpful. Addressed the common themes of unhappiness, and how we go wrong. Life examples that really make you think about life, it's finite, and why to care about enjoying it. One line I loved, "you have two choices, to be happy or unhappy. I just think being happy feels better" (paraphrased a bit), but simple and true.
This book is truly a roadmap to exploring and finding your own happiness. I’ve never before thought about how to go about finding happiness, but this book helped me not only consider it but lay down steps to find self satisfaction and happiness. The concrete actions along with the anecdotes made it easy to read and set my goals in motion. I could not recommend this book more and encourage everyone to read it!
Excellent read! I was immediately intrigued by the wealth of knowledge and various perspectives on achieving happiness shared in 10 Steps. I describe myself as a happy, positive person. Finding Happy helped me recognize behaviors that could be managed differently to not only enhance my happiness, but to sustain it! Definitely worthy of praise!
A fun, witty read with practical advice anyone can start putting into practice right away! Love all the “concrete actions”. Definitely a book to keep on your nightstand even after you’ve finished it.
I never really considered my own happiness before reading this book. I was always concerned with making sure the people in my life were happy, even if that cost me my own happiness. I thought anything else would make me selfish. This book taught me that it's okay to be a little selfish sometimes and put yourself first. After reading this book, I stopped and really evaluated my situation and what would make me happy. I'm now making some major life changes, so thank you Selene & Lindsay!
Finally, a personal development book anyone can relate to!
Selene & Lindsay have crafted and curated stories, techniques and wisdom from real-world practitioners of all backgrounds (like me!), whose day-to-day work is helping actual human beings find actual peace, motivation, contentment, and yes, even happiness.
Whether you're seeking your life's work, trying to start a new habit that will propel you to the "next level," or just looking for a "life hack" that will grant you outsized benefits from even a small investment of time and energy, this book is a must-read!
