Adam Colton is an author from Kent, UK. His latest project, '2021: A Musical Odyssey,' reviews the classic rock and pop albums of the last sixty years, with the humour many will be familiar with from his travel writing.

Adam released three novels during 2020 which he refers to as his 'lockdown trilogy.' The first of these, 'Codename: Narcissus' is a psychological tale narrated by a narcissist while his long-suffering wife disappears into a fantasy world to escape.

'The Dream Machine (Labyrinth of Dreams)' is a surreal tale about a machine that can record dreams and play them back as the ultimate 'virtual reality' experience. It is set in Adam's home county of Kent.

Finally 'The Nightshade Project' features a plot about a government programme to implant silicon chips into the brains of every eighteen-year-old. It contains elements of comedy, surrealism and horror as an outside influence hacks directly into the central character's mind. All three novels are available as paperbacks and eBooks.

Adam;s humorous travel books document cycling (Stair-Rods and Stars), hiking (Mud, Sweat and Beers) and lighthouse-spotting ('England and Wales in a Flash' and 'Bordering on Lunacy'). In addition he has released two short story collections and is one half of the musical duo Adam Colton and Teresa Colton, a mother and son act who record their own acoustic songs who were featured on BBC radio's Dave Cash Show.

Additional info: The Full Cycle was the original title of Stair-Rods and Stars.

Fever Dream

This book is definitely one that provokes a lot of thought. It takes you along for the ride, as if you’re actually part of the story. It makes you comfortable with the setup, what with the fourth wall continually being broken, before plunging you into what can only best be described as a fever dream. It’s certainly a book that requires a couple of reads to truly understand what is going on, but definitely an enjoyable read.

The title says it all in the book when you see how the mind works with one of characters, seems harsh in places but then also comes with unexpected humour.
