Even for a YA book this is very naive story

This story started out ok, but quickly became implausible series of events. A small city would not be making decisions about alien colonization and the government would have had the area quarantined immediately especially as Annie's landing wasn't very quiet especially when she attended the city council meeting and told them what she is going to do.

Their are numerous events that simply would not work in society also if Annie was monitoring the world as she said she was she shouldn't have been so surprised at violence etc...

Overall very simplistic storyline even for a young adult book.
