I was humiliated at the end of freshman year. Now all I want to do is focus on my studies and avoid my former friend and love of my life, Sean Courtright. And I was doing just fine on all accounts until my favorite professor asked me for a tutor the boy who shattered my heart. If the request had come from anyone else, I would have turned him down. Oh boy, I should have … Being cramped in the same room each day, his familiar scent wraps around me and soon, we both slip back into old patterns. If that wasn’t enough, Sean raises the stakes and offers me a bet, one I can’t possibly turn down, even if it sounds way too familiar to last year's broken heart. Will fate allow us a second chance at love? Or will it all come crash down, for the second time?

I have two dogs that are spoiled rotten. I'm a believer in dreams coming true and I love all things book related. This past year I got to meet my favorite romance author and see Broadway, a dream of mine since I was a little girl.

Tell me, what dreams have you made come true of your own?

This book is a retelling of the story of Pocahontas with Veronica and Sean being the main characters. Veronica and Sean have been best friends forever, but during their freshman year of college Veronica is injured and she confesses to Sean that she wants to be more than just friends with him. Sean gets upset and they finish out that year and all of their sophomore year without seeing or talking to each other. Then during their junior year at Camelot U, Veronica is asked to tutor Sean by one of their professors because Sean is in danger of losing his scholarship and possibly his chance to play pro football. Veronica isn't crazy about the idea, but agrees to do so. After Sean doesn't show for the first couple of sessions, Veronica wants to call it quits, but the professor begs her to give Sean one more chance. Finally they make arrangements and meet up, but Sean still doesn't act like he is taking the situation seriously. When Veronica asks him what it will take, Sean makes a bet with her that if he passes all of his midterms than he gets to escort her to the Glass Ball. Veronica agrees. In the mean time, Veronica uses yoga to relax and finds Dax, a grad student who practices with her and talks her into doing some pair moves together. Veronica wishes that she could feel something for Zac as he would be a better bet than Sean, but the feelings just aren't there - at least not on Veronica's side. Read the story to see if Veronica and Sean can finally find their HEA amidst a hiking trip, the Glass ball and jealous shenanigans.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have been loving the Modern Princess Collections and our tales set at Camelot University and will be sad when the series finishes. Unlike the other stories, I have read in this series - Ousted Princess was based on a tale that hasn't been used to death and one that I wasn't 100% familiar with as it is based on the story of Pocahontas which I only have seen the movie once when it was first released when I was younger. In Ousted Princess, we first meet our female and male leads Veronica and Sean. The pair have been best friends since childhood and Veronica have landed herself in hospital after the pair had a climbing accident. It was also the turning point in their friendship but not for good as Roni proclaimed her love for her friend Sean and instead of accepting it, he walked out and the pair's friendship crumbled. Now two years later, the pair is in one of the same classes and it turns out that Sean is failing and needs to bring his grade up to keep his scholarship. Their professor has asked Roni to tutor Sean and she reluctantly agrees. During this time, Roni has met a cute TA Dax whom she does Yoga with. Has Roni found someone else to turn her romantic interests or is life throwing Roni, a curveball by constantly inserting Sean into her daily life and it looks like Sean wants her too and to prove himself he has changed? Will Sean get his second chance with Roni or will she focus on Dax in order not to let Sean shatter her heart into tiny pieces again?

Sean and Veronica aka Robin have a back and forth young love story to tell. They seem to rarely be on the same page during this read.

Sean the athlete and Roni the academic take you on a bit of a ride in this telling. It has a sweetness that I expect in a fairytale retelling (wink) with the right amount of drama.

It is a nice conclusion to the modern day princess collection. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

I really love Tasha writing!! I loved the slight nod to Pocahontas that she did, and in the most modern way! As someone who loves to be outside and be in nature, I totally could relate with Veronica in every way with that! I try to get outside every chance I get!

This story had all of my favorite elements! It had drama, twists and turns! There were so many layers to Veronica and Sean, and then throwing in Dax, it was the best kind of roller coaster. It was truly like unpeeling an onion and seeing what the next layer was like! From Veronica and Sean I really loved their chemistry. They are such good friends and that always creates for some great banter, but these two have something even better. Veronica is perfectly bitter about how he'd treated her and he's a groveling mess. Allll of these things made this story so dang good!!!

I really loved the added bits of nature and loyalty. Tasha picked some of the absolute best traits of Pocahontas to incorporate into who Veronica is. From the camping, to the yoga, to standing up for her friends, these were such amazing traits! I haven't read a lot of these modern retellings, but I truly enjoyed Tasha's and I really saw all of the comparisons. She did such an amazing job with this! Definitely seems like how Pocahontas would have been today!

This story of young love will really pull on your heartstrings.
Feelings can be confusing and jumbled up , and the characters in this book, Veronica and Sean , both fight their feelings for each other through their friendship,

Veronica friend zoned Sean early on in the friendship, and they became the best of friends.

It takes an accident for Veronica to realize that she is in love with him, but when she tells him , he gets angry and walks away .

Fast forward a year and Veronica and Sean are thrown together again , and Sean is determined to win Veronica 's love .

Throw in everything else that goes on in college, and another man wanting Veronica 's attention, and you have yourself a book that will keep you entertained from start to finish , with a story and characters that you will love .

Veronica and Sean were best friends until Veronica’s feeling evolved into love and when she shared those feelings it didn’t go well, and she was left devasted. All she wants to do is put him and that experience in the past however when she is asked to tutor him she can’t say no.

Sean is a football player whose grades could not only jeopardize his scholarship and his place on the team but his future as well. He wants a second chance with Veronica, but not only does he have to convince Veronica but also deal with the fact that not everyone wants them to be together.

I did enjoy Veronica and Sean together and although there was some outside interference the biggest obstacles were from them.

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I didn't know what to expect. This book is part of the Modern Princess Collection Series and is a retelling of Pocahontas and is a best friends to lovers romance book.

Veronica and Sean are best friends who have feelings for each other.
Veronica was humiliated in college and all she wanted to do was avoid seeing her friend Sean. They both have a lot of history together and after the problem at college they don't see each other.
After an accident this is what it takes for Veronica to realise her feelings and it took her a while and now Sean pushes her away. They both are not good at communicating there feeling together and have there wires crossed quite a lot. They both have feelings for each other but don't have a lot of communication between them selves where there love is concerned and deny themselves a lot too.

This is a love story and will put your emotions on a roller coaster ride. This books is a will they wont they and we have to wait to see if they will finally be together. This author has written the characters good and the story flows but is a tad predictable but still enjoyable. Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book. ARC provided in exchange for a complimentary honest voluntary review. This is a quick second chance romance book that is another addition to the princess collection. It was a great retelling and I feel like this author written it very well, this is another great romantic book.

: Ousted Princess is the 6th book in the Modern Princess collection. Its a retelling of the Pocahontas story. Let's use that term "retelling" lightly, because don't expect it to be too much of one, and really Pocahontas doesn't really have a love story

So lets talk about Veronica and Sean. This is a friends to lovers story. These are childhood friends who aren't quite friends anymore. Both are attending Camelot U. Veronica is there studying something to do with nature. She's an outdoorsy girl and a smart one. Sean is a football player who may or may not be losing his scholarship and his shot at the NFL.

There's also a little bit of a love triangle with a grad student named Dax. I really wish that area of the story would have been explored a little more. I found myself liking Dax from the beginning, whereas Sean was a hard one to like, what with the things he did to Veronica from the very start.

These two have a wonderful chemistry. I love Roni's loyalty to Sean, even though he really doesn't deserve it. (And its not as if there aren't other guys that are interested)

There's a little bit of drama at the end, that really proves how loyal Veronica really is too.

I enjoyed this addition to the series.

Fighting for the Loved one

Ousted Princess, the sixth princess of the Modern Princess is about the modern-day Pocahontas, who fights the world for the person she loves.

This story follows Veronica, a strong Spanish girl who finds out that she loves her best friend since childhood, Sean, and gets rejected when she expresses her feeling for him.

Though Sean rejects her, he is unable to stay away from his friend and this gets more awkward and sometimes both end up get hurting when Veronica has to tutor Sean to keep up his grades. And then Sean offers Veronica a bet, that might bring them closer.

Will Veronica see Sean over her wounded heart? What will happen when she realizes what she has missed for a long time? And how far she goes to fight for him? is the remaining story

I loved this rendition of the Pocahontas, I have always loved the women stand by their love through the odds and fight with them, fight for them. Tasha Lewis has done excellent work in scripting the characters and the storyline. Though the entire story is said through the voice of Veronica, every character's feeling was expressed in a way that could reach the audience. The book was a reading treat. I'm giving it a five-star rating.

Ousted Princess is based off of Pocahontas with a modern twist. Veronica had a best friend named Sean, who she grew up with, but the moment she clued him into her new feelings for him, he ghosted her completely for over a year. Fast forward to junior year, and all of a sudden he's back & wanting her, and she wasn't having any of it at first, which I totally agreed with. I do wish she had held out longer before talking to him again since he was a jerk for real, but different strokes for different folks. However, in the midst of all of this, a guy named Dax has entered the picture & seems to be interested in her. Now we have a complicated situation, as Veronica thinks about being with Dax, but her feelings for Sean were coming back with a vengeance. Another thing that I had wished for was more of Sean's POV because without hearing his inner monologue, it made it harder to forgive him. Despite my wishes, I couldn't put the story down for anything, and neither will you once you hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great story about friends for many years and one day Veronica decided to to Sean that she loves him. But Sean is dating someone else. Veronica doesn’t take the rejection very very and they don’t speak to each other for a year. Then Sean comes to his senses and decides that he wants a future with Veronica or Ronita or V as he sometimes calls her. Only she doesn’t want anything to do with him because of the way he rejected her. They play cat and mouse for awhile until Veronica realizes that Sean is serious about them getting together as more than friends. Someone accuses Sean of cheating on his midterm that Veronica helped him study for and she defends him and he is found innocent. They don’t say who it was that accused Sean but I think it was Dax because he wanted Veronica and needed to get him out of the way for the dance to make his move but it didn’t work. Great characters and loved the story.

Ousted Princess by Tasha Lewis is the sixth book in the modern princess collection and can be read as a stand alone story.

It is a modern retelling of Pocahontas, which to be honest, I am not overly familiar with the story so I can’t comment on the similarities. I did find the story to be a great read. The main characters were great and I loved their back story and the little flash backs throughout the book.

Sometimes I wanted to send Veronica to anger management, she seemed to get cranky at the slightest thing, but when she stopped being mad at Sean he did seem to be able to keep her calmer than usual. They make a good team and his calm compliments her fire.

Overall I really enjoyed the story and I’ll be sad to see the end of the modern princess collection as I’ve really liked all of them so far.

I really enjoyed the Pocahontas theme the author put to this novel with a modern twist. As someone who loves the mountains and the views but never tried camping I absolutely loved the moments Veronica spent outside.

Now Veronica and Sean with their roller coaster friendship was at times nerve wrecking. This author handled them brilliantly even throwing in possible competition with Dax. I admit there were moments I would have love to see things possibly play out with Dax further. There were so many layers to ALL the characters I could not put this book down.

This story had maintained drama, suspense, heat, friendship and love.

This was my first book by this author. I'm not a reviewer that retells the story, if you're reading the reviews you probably already know what the story is about. I will tell you the things I look for in a review: what I liked about it. This is a quick fun read. The pacing is just right and there was enough going on to hold my interest. I don't think I would have been as forgiving as our leading lady, but that's me. I would like to have had more detail for the resolution, but was satisfied and felt overall this was a good book. I would read this author again.

A cute quick retelling of Pocahontas. This was a short sweet friends to lovers, second chance standing up for your man story. Veronica and Sean have been best friends forever and after an accident she professed that she is in love with him and the end results with him walking away from her angry and them not talking for over a year. Now Veronica has to tutor Sean and she realizes she still has feelings for him and he keeps trying to apologize. It was a cute story just felt a little rushed.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.

I enjoyed this next installment in the Modern Princess Collection! I’m a big fan of best-friends-to-lovers stories, so this one snapped up my attention from the very beginning. It was a pretty quick read with lots of angst, a little bit of drama, and a happily ever after that made me swoon. Sean and Veronica have a lot of history, and I wish I could have seen more of their backstory. However, I was happy with the story we did get!

Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review of this book.

Ousted princess by Tasha Lewis.
I was humiliated at the end of freshman year. Now all I want to do is focus on my studies and avoid my former friend and love of my life, Sean Courtright. And I was doing just fine on all accounts until my favorite professor asked me for a favor: tutor the boy who shattered my heart.

Really good read. I did enjoy it but it was slow in places. I liked Veronica. Sean grew on me. Looking forward to the next book. 4*.

Sweet book

The story is sweet and quite engaging. Other than the fact that Pocahontas is mentioned towards the end, I really did not see the connection of her with the "princess " she was based on.
I thought there were some gaps, in explanations of behavior ( why was Sean angry and then ghost her when she first told him her feelings in beginning of book. Did not make sense).
Some parts were a bit predictable, but did not really take too much away from the story.
You won't be sorry you read it, just don't look for a princess.

What a cute little story - CamU friends who've know each for a long time, used to do everything together - were best friends at home, feelings have changed, and one of them isn't facing the truth. So of course, with being slightly immature, instead of talking things out, they ignore each other and then do somethings that are hard to get over.

Was interesting to see them work it out - the grovelling was good too. But, the way they eventually always had each others back was touching.

This was another solid offering from this series! Veronica and Sean have history together. Veronica was in love with Sean and now she wants nothing to do with him. All she wants is to graduate and get far away from him. Fate steps in and she is asked to tutor him. There are a lot of twists and turns for them. They both struggle to make it work. I really enjoyed reading their story!

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

I loved the little bits of Spanish that Roni spoke in the book. It adds a little something different. The friends to enemies (kinda) to lovers was a new take, at least for me. I don't know if I would have been as easy to forgive Sean without getting more information, but when that someone still own your heart, it could be a whole other story. I love the fact that they reconnected in a class with one of their favorite things to do together.

This was a emotional and angst filled read. I liked Veronica and Sean's story and also the characters themselves. I will admit to feeling a bit frustrated by these two as their story unfolds and their relationship struggles to evolve. All and all though I felt that this was a good book. I am choosing to posts a forthright review.

Ousted Princess is Book 6 in the Modern Princess Collection and has a modern-day Pocahontas twist to it. Even though all these stories feature Camelot University they are complete stand-alones so no need to read them in any particular order.

This story had great character development and I enjoyed getting to know Veronica and Sean. This is the perfect storyline however that would have benefited by a few more chapters. The first 90% of the story moved along at a decent pace but that last 10% felt really rushed. The epilogue did fill in several of the gaps however. Overall this was a really cute and enjoyable addition to the series!

This a sweet coming-of-age story that will pull at your heartstrings. The mistakes Sean and Veronica make will have you screaming with frustration but understanding why because of their feelings. There's some angst and back and forth and lots of miscommunication before they get their heads on straight.

Emotional Story!

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was filled with lots of emotion and a whole lot of angst. Veronica and Sean's story was frustrating at times because they just couldn't seem to figure things out. They had a lot of struggles in their relationship but that helped them to become closer to each other.

Overall, I enjoyed everything about this story.
