Rate this book
Ponchos are in Vogue ®--and busy knitters will snap up these patterns for one of the most practical, good-looking, and easy-to-make garments ever.

Ponchos are among the most popular garments today, the cover-up of choice for those with style. And, with such a freeform structure, they're a friendly next step for novices who want a new challenge, but don't yet feel ready to try a fitted sweater or jacket. These 20 fashionable projects include both knitting and crochet, and offer a wide range of choices, from elegant mohair and mesh designs to more rustic cabled and fisherman fare. There are even some kids' ponchos to ensure that no one is left out of the fun. With Vogue's easy-to-follow instructions and patterns, it's simple, enjoyable, and satisfying to make a great piece you'll want to show off all the time.

Vogue has a spectacular collection of poncho patterns from lacy, gauzy ponchos to this bulky cabled poncho. There are also a couple of child size ponchos patterns. A total of 21 different patterns to knit.
Nope, my missing poncho pattern is not in this library book.

Most of these patterns use circular needles, the ones that I found worth bookmarking for later were more advanced and beyond my current skill set (Entrelac poncho, the Gossamer Lace poncho, Cable-and-Lattice poncho). Several of these ponchos felt very outdated and awkward to me, such as the one that was elbow length and had a zipper up the front - not a fan of the design.
