Plain, fantasy-loving Ellie and school heartthrob Omi-kun's relationship continues. But after Omi-kun gets in online trouble as part of the "High School Boy Contest," he lies and declares that he's not dating Ellie. The mood's stormy between them now... but meanwhile, Ayaka's convinced Sara to confess her love to Reo. So Ellie joined her her on the way to his workplace... only to run right into Omi-kun!
You can't afford to take your eyes off this pair of couples for a single moment! And how will the High School Boy Contest and Sports Day turn out?! It'll all set your heart racing in Volume 11!
Ellie and Ohmi were in a bad place when we last saw them. As they try to make it better, fate conspires to keep them apart. Will Ellie continue to write the ‘ship or have they become a couple that are no longer trending? (Look, you try coming up with witty copy that fits this series!)
Have you ever read something and felt like you should be enjoying it far more than you actually are? That’s my entire experience with this volume of Lovesick Ellie. It’s perfectly fine and might even be more than fine, but I was honestly struggling to care.
Once the story tips its hand and you realize a reconciliation is coming (spoiler for if you have never read another book like this in your life), it’s just a series of semi-ridiculous mishaps that keep our pair from talking.
The problem is that the situations here aren’t truly insane enough to be hilarious and the serious consequences are still serious, which makes a bad juxtaposition because both aspects get short shrift.
There are some nice parts with Ohmi stepping up for Ellie, though she gets saved too damn much for my liking, but the ridiculous beauty pageant plotline he’s had foisted on him is dull as dishwater (Hatsu*Haru had a lot more fun with that idea when that series did similar).
I think I’m just at the ‘who cares’ stage with this series. This breakup was a lot more interesting before and it just kind of fizzled out, ending in two very uninteresting stories. I do like that the story acknowledges how these two are hormonal teenagers and are both way ready to jump one another - one hesitates to suggest that the series is approaching its climax, but...
It still has some funny parts, to be fair. However, most of the time this book seems like it wants to do some unique story beats but then takes them to the same destination as every other shojo. What it boils down to is that this was a chore to read and I just don’t know whose fault it is, which is rare when I do these reviews.
3 stars. I really had a hard time getting myself to care about this one, even though it was not especially bad. I’m glad the next volume is the finale, as I feel either the series is losing steam or my interest is. Possibly both.
Once again, Reo and Sara save this volume. Their getting together is sweet and left me squealing the whole chapter. As for Eriko and Ohmi, their story can't be more boring. As expected, the conflict fizzles out and leads to no growth for either characters. Given Ohmi's backstory, I'm irritated by how the mangaka is trying to frame the beauty contest as a way for him to be more confident. It's ridiculous and out of character.
This is the volume where Omi-kun and Ellie-chan take their relationship to the next level. I really loved this volume and how the author delved into the subject. We see Ellie being super ignorant but then finding out what actually happens and now is super scared and nervous. But after a talk with someone, she starts to feel okay and again and decides to talk to Omi about it and he's just so sweet and adorable. I love how he says he doesn't want to just do it he wants it to be special because he loves her.
Woah, things were really picking up steam (and spice!) in this volume.
Ellie and Ohmi are back together (did we ever really doubt they would be?) and they're as sweet and cute as can be. They're really one of my fave shoujo couples ever. The shower scene had me gasping for air, Fujimomo definitely knows how to make a girl blush with so little!
I'm also very happy for Sara and Senpai, they make a nice couple (still don't love Ayaka, sorry).
As you can see I devoured this series every day this month. I don’t normally read manga but man I loved this one. Ellie is quirky and perverted and just all around adorable. And than there’s Omie and his popular beauty but really he’s an introvert who struggles to express himself. All in all, I loved it and now I’m impatiently waiting for the last volume to his October!
Side note: please make a drama show off this! I watch plenty of dramas, but especially Japanese ones on Viki, and I needs this to be a real one!
Another great installment. I’m so sad that things are about to come to an end. 4.5 stars rounded up. Dropped a half a star on this one because some of the tension seemed a bit contrived. But I suppose they are high schoolers. Still such an easy and hilarious read and I’m glad that we see how serious and thoughtful both are being about this relationship. Loved to see how Sara and Reo’s relationship is progressing as well!
4.5 Stars Reo and Sara were so cute getting together in the beginning of this volume, they really made me want a manga with them as a main couple. Eriko and Akira finally cleared up their miscommunication in a way that was so them and so cute. The shower scene just made the whole volume that more hilarious. Akira giving up the contest to check on Eriko, was so brilliant and really showcased his love. This was such an enjoyable volume and so worth the read.

More of a 3.5 star rating; I got really worried for Ellie and Omi-kun, especially Ellie with everything that happened in this volume, but I’m glad that things finally calmed down. I’m very curious to see how this last volume goes and hope that Ellie and Omi-kun, along with Sara-chan and Takagi, get their happy ending(s).
I think my favourite part of this volume would be when Ellie was made a substitute leader for the sports committee. Everyone relied on her, which really makes me happy because more people are finally noticing her :')))) /cues proud mum tears/
Ellie and Omi finally making up and being supportive of each other is definitely the best thing too ♡
there are a lot of high school romance mangas, but damn...this is the first one that is really reminding me of a true high school experience. the awkwardness is out of control in this one, and they definitely come across as dramatic, angsty, and horny teenagers lolol!! sara and reo finally getting together was a relief, I couldn't take sara pushing him away any longer.

I love this series so much!!! Ellie is so hilarious. The tension is building and the mangaka’s art really conveys that feeling… They are definitely horny for each other LOL. Is the “moment” coming next volume?!? IT BETTER! I think it’s the final one!!!
I'm super sad that the next volume is the finale, but I'm also excited to read it. The romance is super cute, and I love how much of a perv Ellie is. She's so realistic and fun to root for. Lovesick Ellie is a favorite of mine, and I can't wait to see how it all ends.
FINALLY! A real conversation leading to a resolution.
Honestly I think Sara and Reo have the more interesting and better relationship - they deserve their own series - but Ellie and Ohmi are kind of cute and quirky too.
Best volume so far. They had a conflict in the start of the manga, resolved it beautifully and in a cute way by the end. The art shows them getting older and more mature too. Great penultimate volume. Their love story is so wholesome! Can't wait to read the final volume!
