I love a book with good secrets. “The Wolves of Wulfric Manor” deliciously mixes historical romance with just a touch of paranormal—you have the fancy parties, the societal rules, the rakes, the pressure to marry… and a terrible secret or two of a werewolfish variety. I LOVED Caleb and Elara from the very first page. Talk about meet cute when he dashingly rescues her when they’re children. But of course, Caleb is harboring many secrets. The wolf curse is handed down in his family from father to son. Only girls are spared. Not only would Caleb curse any girl he married by bringing his curse into their genetic future and their lives, but he also lives in fear of the monster that is his father. He won’t become that man and hurt someone else. Little does he know that Elara is hiding a supernatural secret of her own.

As a lover of werewolf romances of all flavors 😊 I LOVE this fresh take and adored watching the two of them slowly grow closer as adults. Elara has been forced to stay secluded because of her secret, but circumstances have forced her to marry in haste, preferably to someone wealthy, and of course, the suitor turns out to be a cad. Watching Elara and Caleb fight their way to a happy ending made for an absolutely delicious read!

A lovely historical romance with a paranormal twist.

Elara Rothwell's dream of marrying her prince was lost the moment she turned thirteen and found out she's destined to turn into a beast. Afraid that her secret may be discovered she spent years secluded on her family's estate, trying to get her beast under control. And that's how she would have wanted things to remain. Except that her family is almost ruined, partly due to Elara's secret too. And Elara has no choice but to marry, to save her parents and estate.

The prospect is quite terrifying but Elara is determined to succeed. And if that means getting married to a pushy and obnoxious lord, so be it. Until fate, or better said, a well meaning and utterly nosy grandmother, thrust Elara's childhood friend Caleb, Lord of Wulfric Manor, straight into the spotlight of her debut ball.

Hidden away from society for the past ten years and cursed to be a wolf shifter from birth, Caleb swore to never become the monster his own father was. And for that, marriage was completely out of question. Besides, there was no woman who genuinely seemed to even like him. Apart from Elara that is. And Caleb wouldn't even dream of ruining her chances at happiness and a normal family, so he's determined to keep his distance.
Until a certain unsavoury gentleman starts sticking to Elara in a most irritating manner and Caleb finds himself having a hard time refraining from bashing his face in that is.

A marriage of convenience would be the answer to both Caleb's and Elara's troubles, but that may either save or doom them both.

Nicely paced and flowing, The Wolves of Wulfric Manor is a lovely historical romance with a paranormal twist. The characters are nicely fleshed out and society rules and events just what you'd expect them to be. Caleb and Elara both are likeable characters to root for and the grandmother practically stole the show. She is totally fabulous!

However, the tale is a bit too tame as far as both plot and intensity are concerned. The banter is perfectly appropriate but not memorable and while the feelings flow very nicely, they don't leap from the page. It lacks that certain spunk and spark and angst that gets a reader glued to the seat. That certain little something that makes you want to keep turning pages till the very end. That gripping edge that makes a tale unputdownable.

All in all, The Wolves of Wulfric Manor is a lovely read that beautifully mixes romance with the paranormal. Just perfect for a rainy afternoon tea.
Don't hesitate to give it a try if you're a fan of the genre.

The Wolves of Wulfric Manor has been in my TBR for a long time. As soon as I found out it was a shifter fantasy set during the Regency era, I was in! And boy did it deliver!

First of all, the romance between Elara and Caleb was AMAZINGLY well done. There was so much pining and angst and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. Not to mention, a marriage of convenience evolving into true love is one of my favorite tropes. It was wonderful watching both of them fight their feelings because they believed themselves unworthy of the other. I was here for it! Due to all the pining, when they did finally get together it felt so natural and satisfying. The Wolves of Wulfric Manor is slow-burn PERFECTION!!

5/5 stars! I highly recommend this book for all fantasy and romance lovers! And even you like shifters...even better!!

Wolves of Wulfric Manor by Elisha Bugg is the perfect book for the paranormal romance fan who has been swept away by the Bridgerton television phenomenon. It has all the fancy dresses, balls and parties, and upper class gossip of a historical romance. However it is all told through the eyes of Elara the 19 year old werewolf who has missed her debut season. I loved her mix of fiery temperament and naivete. The scenes with her and Hargreaves had me on the edge of my seat. He was a truly vile and scary villain. Our hero, Caleb, is the grouchy alpha male I love to read about in traditional paranormal romance with a Regency twist.

Overall, I highly recommend the Wolves of Wulfric Manor for the historical romance fan, the werewolf romance fan, or someone open to blending the two subgenres together. You are in for a treat.

This was really sweet. Childhood friends, a secret, a marriage of convenience where both parties find themselves wishing it weren’t —I’m here for all of this! A little spice toward the end is the cherry on top.

A copy of this book was sent to me in return for an honest review ~

If you like historical romance, paranormal romance, slow burn, friends to lovers check this out!

I haven't read a lot of paranormal romance but this book has made me want to read a lot more!

I don't want to go in too much to the plot because I feel like it's better to go in not knowing much. This book contains friends, we see them as children and then as adults. Some things have happened to both but we don't know the details so there are mysteries to puzzle throughout the book. There are realistic problems and issues they struggle with. There's a villain! There's sweet, cute moments and both characters really care for each other. There is a slow burn and there are a couple of spicy scenes.

This was a fast read, one that I kept wanting to pick up to find out what happens, to learn the details of what happened and to see the resolutions.

I loved this book and even after finishing it, I am still thinking about it. I highly recommend picking this up! It would also be great as an introduction to paranormal romance.

A shifter romance based in historical times? This sounded like such a fun read! And I definitely wasn't disappointed. Elisha Bugg managed to transport me to another time with social intrigue, secrets, and plenty of romance. I enjoyed the slow-burn between Caleb and Elara. Although they start out as childhood friends, something more begins to develop when they meet again years later.

I enjoyed every moment of this book and would love to further explore this world or other worlds from this author. Definitely a great read for lovers of historical and paranormal romance.

Sexy shifters!

I love this romance between Elara & Caleb. Childhood friends, separated by circumstances, are brought together again, possessing secrets and a passion that rages out of control. This romance will hold your attention and make you cheer for their HEA, while you enjoy those captivating details from the past. The tortured hero/heroine aspect tugs at the heartstrings, and the longing between them intensifies everything. Don't miss this one paranormal historical romance readers.💞

I enjoyed this historical romance with a paranormal wolf twist. It's a nicely developed story that is interesting. I really love the two main characters. Elara and Caleb are perfectly suited; more than they know. They grew up together even though she was closer to his sister Dottie. He is her knight in shining armor that saves her from marrying Lord Hargreave, an unsavory and rakish Barron that is rather forceful.

This is a very good shifter novel. It reminds me of those old historical romances I read when I was younger. It has romance, a tall handsome knight in shining armor with a few issues, and a cad. I enjoyed the book very much. I would recommend it.

Very different

I loved the story line, and the characters. I am just getting into books of this nature. I know of wish there was more background into the childhoods of the main characters. I feel like it was rushed so I didn't get to fully connect with the characters. But still a good book

One of the greatest gifts a reader might offer an author, is to suspend all their disbelief, and allow a story to whisk them away.

The Wolves of Wulfric Manor is a masterfully written fairytale for adults. Elisha Bugg has blended the perfect elements of characters you want to be, deep love and longing, and what comes next! A perfect rainy afternoon read.

Victorian - Paranormal Romance

First time reading from this author and loved it. I love the backstory development of the characters. I do wish their marriage could have been explored more. I probably would have said 4.5 stars, but it defo deserves the round up.

Caleb and his sister Dottie were friends with Elara many times he would save them when they were playing and got hurt. Caleb always knew that he was a wolf, but his dad was a monster of a wolf. His father killed his family but Caleb took care of his father so his father couldn’t do it again. So he left to go to school and stayed away finally his grandma demanded that he come home because she was ill. Elara was shut up in her home for 10 years because of her wolf, finally her parents needed the money to keep their house so they told her that she had to marry someone of money to save their home. She was having problems with a baron so Caleb asked to marry him because he would never treat her like the other suitor would. But they were still having problems with him, they got that taken care and then he found out that she was like him. They were happy ever after! *may contain spoilers*

This was a diverting read. I enjoyed the combination of historical romance and paranormal. I was left with questions never answered and that annoyed me a bit. Having the character speak out loud that they, too, do not know the answers felt like an eye-roll moment. Regardless, I did like the book. The romance was friends-to-lovers. The twist at the end didn't seem much like a twist and everything wrapped up in one chapter, but again, I still enjoyed it.

Different take on shifters

I enjoyed reading this book. It did seem to drag in places, however it mostly moved at an appropriate pace. The characters were likeable.
