In this book I examine two different aspects of religion. First we will discuss the logical arguments for and against the existence of god. In the last chapter I will demonstrate how religion has been the source of most evil in the world today and throughout human history. In the beginning...the gods were the best explanation we had about how things worked and why we are here. But now we have vastly superior explanations. The concept of a god is no longer a valid explanation of anything, and has instead become something that in itself requires a great deal of explaining. In today’s world the burden of proof lies heavily with the believer when it comes to demonstrating the existence of any god. I find it funny that even true believers in Yahweh are skeptical when it comes to the existence of Zeus, Thor, Buddha, Brahman, or a myriad of other gods. Only the atheist realizes that all gods are non-existent. Consequently, the atheist is the only one who takes the world's problems and suffering at face value. While this book will do little to alter the reality of those who choose to base their lives on the idea of unsubstantiated faith, it may serve to help the budding atheist fend off the bombardment of illogical and ignorant argument posed by many in the religious community as to why their god unequivocally has to exist.
