For years prophecy writers have focused on how things are changing. 2000 A.D. goes even further to show you how we are changing. While television and Hollywood beam wonderful images into our minds.the internet, the information superhighway and the power of the year 2000 are about to change our world forever. In this stunning new book, bestselling authors Peter and Paul Lalonde will help you see prophecy in a way that is entertaining, fresh, and unique. By the time you're done reading this book, you'll understand how today's world will not only accept, but embrace the coming antichrist.
Peter and Paul LaLonde host a weekly news-format TV show, "This Week in Bible Prophecy," and also founded Cloud Ten Pictures and have produced documentaries such as 'Startling Proofs,' 'Racing Toward the Mark of the Beast,' 'Scientific Facts in the Bible,' movies such as 'Left Behind,' 'Apocalypse,' etc. They have also written books such as '301 Startling Proofs & Prophecies,' 'Racing Toward the Mark of the Beast,' 'The Edge of Time,' etc.
They wrote in the Preface to this 1997 book, "God wants you to understand the excitement and urgency of the time in which you live... That is what this book is for. We want to help you understand the day in which you live in a way that you never have before. We want to help you see Bible prophecy through brand-new eyes... You will hear things in this book that you have never heard before... And by the time you are finished, we'll have given you a whole new way of looking at Bible prophecy." (Pg. vii-viii)
They assert, "The fact is that we know what event is going to trigger the transformation into a new world order. It is the rapture of the church... The rapture is going to literally trigger the complete change of thinking on the whole planet... And this is where we believe that UFO's will come into play. Think about it for a second. What is the only context that this world has for people vanishing from right before their eyes? It is Star Trek's transporter beam... That is why we believe that people won't feel as if they've been left behind. Instead, they will thank their lucky stars that they've been spared... it provides a convenient explanation for where those who vanished have gone. " (Pg. 155)
They observe, "'Wait just a moment!' many will cry. Doesn't the Bible predict that the Lord will return around the year 2000?... The fact is that this theory cannot be proved. First of all, combining two passages [Genesis 1 and 2 Peter 3:8] from the Bible in this way... is poor theology. Second, Jewish scholars have done the same study and come up with a completely different date for the creation---they calculate the date to have been 3760 B.C. And finally, if it was that obvious, why did Jesus say that even He did not know the day or hour of His return? But there's still another problem. For the Lord to establish His kingdom and begin the millennial period in 2000 A.D., the rapture, the rise of the Antichrist, and the seven-year Tribulation would all have to come before then. And we can now say conclusively that none of this happened in 1993." (Pg. 187)
This book will be of interest to students of biblical prophecy.
An Examination of how Daniel's note that "knowledge will be greatly increased" at the time of the end could be played out in our sped-up computers Virtual Reality world. I'd never thought of these issues before. Thank you....
