Sex, love, and forgiveness-can they coexist, and can romance author Sarah write them into her life?Although bestselling author Sarah O’Malley is sure her next erotic-romance novel will be another hit, she finds it near to impossible to replicate the same results in her personal life. At forty-five years old, Sarah now finds herself divorced and a single mother of two. Sarah journeys back to her childhood home to nurse her mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, and she inevitably encounters the ghosts of her past-the death of a child, its devastating effect on family relations, youthful sexual exploration, and an unplanned pregnancy. However, the haunts of the past open up a whole new world to Sarah as she learns to forgive the traumas that had happened before. Amid a great awakening, Sarah also comes to terms with being a sexually active middle-aged woman, and begins to accept sex again, even in the most inappropriate but titillating circumstances. As she unlocks her own physical desires, she also stumbles upon a heavy secret that her mother had been hiding from her for the past fifty years. This trip might prove to be a better story than anything Sarah could have possibly hoped to write.Skyhorse Publishing, as well as our Arcade, Yucca, and Good Books imprints, are proud to publish a broad range of books for readers interested in fiction-novels, novellas, political and medical thrillers, comedy, satire, historical fiction, romance, erotic and love stories, mystery, classic literature, folklore and mythology, literary classics including Shakespeare, Dumas, Wilde, Cather, and much more. I was born in Los Angeles California and into a show business family. My father was writer/director Blake Edwards (Breakfast at Tiffanys, The Pink Panther series, Victor Victoria. To name a few). My mother was an actress, Patricia Walker and later became a costume designer. In the mid sixties they divorced and my father married Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins, Sound of Music). She became my step mother when I was seven years old. At the age of ten, I won the title role, in the NBC movie "Heidi" which not only had the highest neilson ratings at that time, but also preempted a New York Jets Oakland Raiders playoff game. It is still referred to as The Heidi Bowl. I continued acting, and did many features, television shows, and plays. I have always enjoyed writing. As a young girl, I wrote poetry and songs. I have also written several screenplays and continue to write lyrics for songs. "When Angels Cry" is my first novel. I am currently working on a new book. I am the mother of two grown daughters. Kayti 38 and Hannah 21. Hannah now makes 5 generations in our family, in show business. I have three grandchildren. I live in the beautiful mountains over Malibu with my fiance, who is a musician/composer.
I really liked listening to this. Sarah is unabashedly honest with herself, and I love it. I love how her friendship with Marie lasted through burgeoning their lesbian exploration together as young girls, through their individual marriages and Marie's separation from her husband and coming out. I love all the LGBT rep. I loved her life story from sexually liberated college student to mother to divorcee sleeping with a man much younger than her. Sarah is the type of character I could be friends with. The ending was super emotional and fit the story so well.

I love this book! Sarah O'Malley is a divorced, forty five year old Erotic Romance author who isn't getting any of what she writes about. That changes unexpectedly when sh comes home to care for her always difficult mother who is suffering from dementia. This is such a layered story that it's hard to describe. You come to know a lot of people and care for all of them.Humor, pathos and excellent writing make this a book that's hard to put down. I look forward to more from this author. Bravo, Jennifer Edwards.
I can't really say that the writing was necessarily the problem. Yes, I did see some grammatical and punctuation errors. However, my reason for not liking the book is of no fault of the author. The novel was too liberal for my tastes.
