“An artist who has been shaping polymer clay for more than a decade...now reveals her secrets....precise in its instructions for more than 50 jewelry products...[the book] explains in words and pictures exactly how to roll and shape beads...so there is no space for errors....every detail conceivable is included.”— Booklist . “A fine new book...covers many different techniques and is full of color photographs.”— Polyinformer.
Considering this book was actually published way back in 1997, it's actually pretty good. Although we have many more whiz-bang materials and technologies in polymer clay today, the basis of this book is good, solid design, and therefore the end product is quality. The biggest variation in reactions readers are likely to have will be due to matters of taste; for me, a little less than half the designs in the book are too "cutesy" (flowers, teddy bears, dolls, and the like), but the rest I find eminently wearable and adaptable. Definitely something to pick up if you see it at a yard sale or still available in your local library, but other than that, more recent books have overtaken this one.
