"It is more than probable that I am not understood; but I fear, indeed, that it is in no manner possible to convey to the mind of the merely general reader, an adequate idea of that nervous intensity of interest with which, in my case, the powers of meditation (not to speak technically) busied and buried themselves, in the contemplation of even the most ordinary objects of the universe." - Edagr A. Poe

I live with my two cats and Husband of three years. I love to travel, ride horses, write, read, draw, drink wine, cook, each chocolate, and design. Never figured I'd become a writer but did, and no matter the day it's always good because of it. My somewhat unhealthy facination with the idea that we all die adds an oddly sweet twist to my love stories. Ever since I was old enough to understand this, I haven't been able to stop thinking of it, and what happens after. To me, I don't want to lose the love I've built in this life... Writing books ensure that this will never happen.

I had never heard of this series - but the first book sucked me in and I new I had to read the entire series.

This, the third book in the series, was packed with passion and suspense. The characters continue to develop and learn new things about themselves and you are learning right along with them.

While the story is pure fantasy, revolving around the conflict between the gods, angels, and human world they are manipulating, the basic good vs evil theme and human nature evolves.

I was such a fan of Ebner's writing and story telling after Feather. I am just very frustrated with this book. To me all of the fire from Feather was gone and the funniness from Guardian was also gone. I was so looking forward to this book it was just a big let down. To me it was written more as a political platform for global warming and a tie into her next series. There were some really good quotes and I am glad that the stars "finally aligned" for Elle and her man. Sorry.

Raven started off slow and boring, Edgar was , but he had changed a bit, he was angry and just kept important things to himself . Raven was mostly a journey figuring out what they (Elle, Edgar, Sam, and Margreite) had to do to save the world. But since Elle was The One, only she can do it and alone. First she made a deal with the gods that all magic was to disappear from earth and no god can set foot on earth again, only angels can come to collect souls. So Elle had to give up being a

It was long but toward the end, it was cute, That part was sad and adorable :( ,,,,,,,, tear,,,,,

But of course this book just couldn't end with a happy ending, they throw a crazy twist, Samantha explains that after Omg what was that about.... :O,,, she also says that shes Gifted, probably meaning she has the same powers as Elle did. That ending left me a little shocked, I would've been happy just leaving it with Elle and Edgar together :) ,,,,, cute...

The whole thing about Edgar Allen Poe was strange, but who cares, I've always liked his stories :) and he was silly in this book just like in the last one.

Anyway, I'm always sad about finishing a series, but it has to happen :(

I really liked the first one in this series. I loved the plot and the whole idea of the soul mates thing was right up my alley. The second one was ok in theory: the whole "going to heaven and striking a deal with the gods to get my love back" is pretty interesting and kind of like Journey To The Center of The Earth. And Margriete being the cat was cool. But it was ruined by the unicorns and other majorly lame factors. But this one...."help, help the earth is dying and the main character (shocker) is the only one who can save us" is a little done. It could have been interesting if executed properly, but this book focused on Edgar and Elle and their petty drama more then it did the factors, explanations, and rescue plans of the dying Earth. I mean, to me, that was the important thing going on, not the fact that Edgar lied to Elle. The main plot of the book was lost in the silly things going on between the characters. At least in Guardian, Sam was there to add humor to the story. But in Raven, Sam is hardly ever seen and when he is, he's bringing bad news. The ending was a little anti-climatic and unsatisfying because I would have liked to read more about their reunion, but that's just me.
I did like the weakness Edgar developed. I rounded him as a character a showed me more sides of his personality. Elle, too, changed in this book. She showed not only strength but independence. I had previously tagged her as a love-sick puppy who depended on Edgar for life (which was coincidently true) but she broke out of her shell and did what she needed to do.

As Edgar comes back into Elle's life, we discover there is a prophesy centered around Elle and the fate of earth. A prophecy that Edgar is aware of, but is unwilling to share with Elle. This of course leads to problems that just make spell the end of both Edgar and Elle's love and life on earth as we know it.

I really liked this one. Why? We finally get to hear another side to this story, and I thought it brought a lot of insight to the story. In this last installment, Edgar is back into the picture and we get to take a look at how his mind works. It's pretty crazy to see how different his thought process is and how Elle saw him from the first book. I've read a few reviews that didn't buy it. How did Edgar become this selfish, jealous and violent being? Sooo different from the beginning of the story. But that's the beauty of the book. We hear how he has to maintain control... now we know just how much he holds back. It also makes it more convincing to me how they are supposed to be opposites of each other.

Trying not to give much away, I liked how they handled the deal with the gods in the end as well. It explains why all magic faded from earth... why we don't get to see our guardian angels... and it leaves the book open for another series. I'm eager to see what Ebner has in store.

I like the first book, Feather. The plot, the characters, the mysterious feel about Edgar. Though I was a bit surprised when suddenly liked Sarah. I'm a bit disappointed because it didn't delve deeper about the relationship of Matthew and Edgar, though I know they were like brothers but still I wished that there was a bit of flashback or something about their relationship. The second book was ok. I just loved the way Sam annoys Elle with his sometimes rude comments. But I didn't thought that Sam and Margriete would become a couple in the end. And Scott was able to help them even though he was a human and what happened to his test???

In the third book I somehow got annoyed at Elle when Edgar didn't tell her about the prophecy. Why didn't she just wait and allow Edgar to tell her the real reason rather than leave him brokenhearted...

I somehow get the point that why Elle need to be a human again in the beginning, but I just don't get why she needs to be a human again after she saved the world. Or does she need to be a human so that she can give birth to her and Edgar's child. And what is with the ending where Samantha's (granddaughter of Elle and Edgar) parents died. And she is gifted?? Just when they made a contract with the gods that there won't be any magic in the world she became gifted?

Does this have a continuation or something???

Epics - I don't think you can do a credible job with an epic unles you create a series. I mean weaving a story around a person that affects all of mankind and the earth and heaven in three books? I think you lose or sacrifice something. Even people whose decisions have a chance to be epic, don't think of them that way, they are just trying to make their way the best way they know how. The story should be around, the thoughts and reasons why they choose as they do. Did she really take it so smoothly, being a human reject for 18 years and then acceptance with no adjustment in thinking to being immortal to having the future of mankind rest on her shoulders. If the choice is extinction, why not broker a better deal with the God's, make them work for the benevolence of mankind. The author also does not convince me that humans should survive, especially when after the effect they still seem the same. What's more important, the story or the character? In doing an epic in three books, the answer is neither. I don't mind having questions at the end of a story, but I don't like having doubts. Not believing in the characters, not understanding them, and finding myself doubting their actions. The three books feel more like an outline with very little filled in, than a story.

I don't know what to take from this book. It was good, I loved the idea of the plot. But it dragged on. I mean, I see why she had to live a full human life. I just don't know. The end made me sad, happy, and every other emotion out there. It was alright. I just don't like how MUCH it changed from book one. I am on the fence. It lost me when they were on Sam's (Elle's daughter's daughter) point of view. There for a minute I did not see it coming.

All I know is I am glad Elle got to be young and back home. I just wish it had a little bit more reunion time! I missed Edgar all of book 2 and all of book 3 he is rarely there in true spirit. Then at the end he finally meets his daughter and just hugs her, then kisses his granddaughter then all of a sudden her parents were murdered!? Is there going to be like a sequel series to the Feather series???
I don't understand!? Its confusing. I just wish it would have been a little more poetically written instead of words here and there.

Then again, who am I?
No one special.

It was good. It wasn't as good as the first book but it was better than the second book in my opinion. This tells the story of what happens after Elle finds Edgar again. Some bits I read quickly but most of it I paced out, especially towards the end.

The book is split into 3 parts. I liked and didn't like this. I liked it because you got see Elle face different elements in each part.

The side characters didn't really have a place in this book as it's really about Elle trying to conquer the gods and expell Magic from the world. The different parts of the book focused on different characters and their interactions with Elle as well as Elle figuring out the "prophecy".

I'd say that Elle faces her biggest trial in this book in working out what to do to save the world.

I'd give this book 3.5 stars out of 5 because, while I liked it - it could have had more I feel. Also there were some spelling and grammar mistakes.

The Book was sweet and i fell in love with characters really easily. The ending though was a mixture of sad/sweet/desperate i guess are the right words. But i was completely and utterly shocked at the same time. I mean seriously you would think that the heroine would manage not to get knocked up and give the gods a way to control humans again huh, but NO!!!! she just had to sleep with him. I mean seriously and then they turn her human so she can have a child!!!! So 80 years later her granddaughter has the same exact problem murdered parents and magic Yay!!! So much for a happy ending

I began this series with the idea of reading something about Edgar Allen Poe with a Literary twist, what I got was completely unexpected. The trilogy of the raven was a unique telling of the trials and tribulations of soul mates and their never ending battles to stay together whilst still attempting to meet ones goals. Mythical creatures, Gods/ Goddesses, and a comical twist in regards to one of Americas most common writers. Yes please!

the ending of this book really let me down. I guess I was looking for the full fairytale happy ending. I didn't like it flipping to a different narrator because it meant losing the emotional connection to the lead characters.

This one was a good end to the series. I liked this series because it was a mix of familiar formulas and ideas of books I read, but also new ideas and things I haven't seen elsewhere.
