I knew from the moment I read Leslie Esdaile's short story in SISTAHOOD OF SHOPAHOLICS that she was an author I would be on the look-out for.

In SISTER GOT GAME, Esdaile highlights the important factors of what each one of us treasures in ANY relationship. Love, honesty, trust, spirituality and a sense of family. I would best describe it as "chick-lit with heart".

Darien Jackson is the dazzling college educated woman struggling to get by. Though she is smart and talented, Darien uses men to get her closer to her idea of the finer things in life - that is until all of her game playing catches up to her.

When Maxwell Ferguson, the young and remarkably handsome repo man, attempts to take away Darien's stylish sports car, she is at her wits end. She comes up with an outlandish tale of being stalked and how her car is her only means of escape. Captivated by her beauty and his chance to play knight in shining armor, Max offers her a job to pay off her debts. She readily accepts seeing this as her chance to right her wrongs. But, when she reports to work on Monday, she finds out that the sexy tow-man is the successful self-made millionaire CEO of her new company.

From that point on, the two get caught in a whirlwind clusterfuck of attraction. They are made for each other and everyone around them sees it. They try and deny the feelings, but it just brings them closer, each of them falling harder for one another. In the end, they give into true love and possibly get their HEA.

Leslie Esdaile is an amazing storyteller. The story was beautiful and the characters were so familiar and relative. I will definitely be picking up more of Esdaile's books.

I really enjoyed reading this book Darien is a character I really enjoyed getting to know , the book opens with her running from the repo man so he would not get her car but the repo man catches her any way in more ways than one:Maxwell come to repossess Darien's and ends up wanting more than her car. The way this author writes her characters falling in love is so beautiful when Maxwell realized he loved Darien even though he tried to fight it he went all in. The book felt like a Babyface song"I give good love I pay your rent, I'll buy your clothes, soon as I get home from work I give you good love" but like any man he had his silly moments . Darien gave just as good as he did when she realized that yes she did not have to play games anymore. she loved Maxwell and would do all she could to help him . We lost a beautifully talented author when we lost Leslie Esdaile I will make sure I read every book she has written.

The beginning really caught my eye but it faded a little once the location changed. The couple fell in love in about two weeks or so from what I can tell. There was supposed to be this big revelation about Maxwell's mentor but it fell flat to me and didn't really amount to much. I wanted their relationship to be fleshed out more because it seemed rushed. I would have given 3.5 stars if possible.

A Great Read

I enjoyed reading this romance novel. What true romance is all about. Enjoyed the views on family. The closeness of Max's family and the then there was the always pull you down relationship in Darien's family...reminded me of my family and made you long for a family like Max's.
