Poor Kuroigitsune’s true feelings for Yue are revealed, making Yue come to a decision to try to save Tsubaki. Akiyoshi, however, has already taken action himself to rescue Tsubaki, an action which will endanger Yue and everyone in the shine, leaving them exposed to an enemy with an age-old grudge.
The tension is mounting, along with the danger to all the characters, not just Yue and his chosen meals. More of the true nature of the residents at the shrine, their history, and the meaning behind the title of this series was revealed. At times, I had trouble following the plot and character twists, yet they remained intense, beautiful, and emotionally arresting. For all of these qualities, I give this four stars.
With the protective barrier gone from the shrine, the ayakashi are in danger. Yue is separated from his longtime friend Kurogitsune, and goes to rescue Tsubaki alone. He is questioning the need for a meal, but can he stop the inevitable?
I really liked this volume. Lots of action, but also a lot of interesting character backstory and growth. Looking forward to the next one.
The story is starting to feel a little less confusing and it actually seems to be going somewhere now, but it still has some points that are confusing. Still, we are approaching the ends of the story now and I am curious how it will end.
