Middle-aged widower and millionaire playboy Quinton Kincade stands to lose his chain of department stores if he doesn't find and marry a woman with the qualifications his father put in his will. The marriage has to last at least one year. With no escape clause, he and his lawyer set out to find a woman who can be enticed with enough money to marry him. Jillian Lockland lost most of her assets when her husband divorced her and left her almost penniless. When she sees a newspaper ad for an unusual job in the Blue Ridge Mountains, she never suspects she's applying to become a wife.

Great quick read. A romance right out of Greensboro and Asheville North Carolina. Quinton is forced to marry to save his chain of businesses the Kincade Department Stores. The catch is the marriage has to last a year with tight stipulations and specifications according to his now deceased father or he forfeit to his brother who is more of an artist than business man.

Jillian after a horrendous divorce which left her in a financial bind, takes Quinton's proposal into consideration.

Can they both enter into this agreement and be able to walk away after a year or will it last a year?

I liked the story, but I found the dialogue stiff & proper at times.
