"There is a story inside me. It's not the full story. It's only the beginning. But I'm sure that I'll be able to write it to the end."

Bitch Magnet is... "normal" for an Otaro Maijo novel, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a story about a girl dealing with family issues and becoming an adult. While not everything in the novel worked for me, some parts I really resonated with, especially the narrator's struggles with depression and with trying to write.

主人公の成長がハッキリとしている。初期の土か煙～や暗闇の～とは文体は同じでも、作風がずいぶん変わったように感じる。初めに弟に依存していた主人公が、弟離れして、彼氏を作って、一人になって、物語について考える。作者は物語について何かを期待しているように感じる。好き好き～の柿生2で最後に祈りのように物語への期待を述べていたのが今回に繋がったように感じる。ぶっ飛んだ作品で、あ～これは芥川賞確かにきついかもな～と思わせるような所もあるけれど、それを抜きにしても断然面白い。
