A fun book with lots of great history and anecdotes mainly from the 1600s-1800s from all over New England. Stories such as a full church knocked off its foundation and which ended up floating down river intact, how different towns got their names, and the giant cheese made in Western MA that was presented to President Jefferson. Fun stuff that they didn't teach in history class but should have!

Great little ditty!! Lots of trivia about New England. I actually learned something about the small town I live in!

I bought this for my Cthulhu Mythos/Lovecraft shelf solely because it has a chapter called "To Thirst After Strange Gods." Sadly, no mention of Innsmouth or Dunwich.
