See all the animals on the farm in a book that’s indestructible!
Where is the horse? Running in the field! Where are the chickens? Playing with their chicks! Where are the sheep? Frolicking in the grass!
Indestructibles is the trusted series for easing little ones into story time. Beloved by babies and their parents, Indestructibles are built for the way babies “read” (i.e., with their hands and mouths) and are: Rip Proof—made of ultra-durable tight-woven material Waterproof—can be chewed on, drooled on, and washed! Emergent Literacy Tool—bright pictures and few or no words encourage dialogic reading Portable—lightweight books can go anywhere, perfect for the diaper bag and for travel Safe for Baby—meets ASTM safety standards
I have been using the pictures in this book to approximate Where's My Cow? of Terry Pratchett Terry Pratchett's Sam Vimes reading to Young Sam in Thud!
This just might be way more fun than it has any right to be.
Wiggle! March! is a wordless picture book that it designed to withstand the craziness of very young children. We bought this book for our daughter her first Christmas. She has spit-up, slept with, chewed on, and flipped through this book many many times. The book has been able to withstand her brutality.
Basically the book is just a collection of farm animals. Nothing special, but my little girl, the books intended type audience, loves it!
Partly I'm just bored, having "read" 4 other Indestructibles books immediately prior to this one, but I also wasn't into the illustrations in this (much more than in the previous books, I felt the style of separate pieces of colored paper placed on each other, rather than feeling like an integrated whole) -- and does this turkey have eyelashes?!
Part of Indestrubctibles series(board books, chew proof, rip proof, nontoxic, washable). Try also Baby Faces by Kate Merritt. Or Creep! Crawl; Flutter! Fly; Plop-plop Pond; Mama and Baby!; Mary Had a Little Lamb; Humpty Dumpty; Hey Diddle Diddle, Frere Jacques; Old Macdonald Had a Farm; Hickory Dickory Dock. Great for Baby Time or Toddler Time.
My favorite is when Mom reads this to the tune of Yo Gabba Gabba's Wiggle Stop song, but instead of saying go or stop, she makes the sound of animal on the page. It's so fun! The last two pages are my favorite, even though it takes too long to get to them sometimes.
