This book had all the puppies, so it was automatically awesome. I liked how their trick to get the drawers to return to the Otherworld was literally just them asking the dwarves to return to the Otherworld. Not sure if that actuslly counts as a trick, but... Puppies!
I haven't read the prior books, but it's easy enough to follow along with what's happening, since it has a Baby-Sitters Club-style recap at the beginning of the book. Essentially, a fairy (Sprite), a girl (Violet), and the girl's brother (Leon) have been wrangling pixies* who have been making trouble. This time, the trouble comes from a pair of twin dwarfs** named Meanie and Greenie, who are stealing dogs.
Why?
...I mean, LOOK AT THEM. Best boys and girls! Such good doggos! Who wouldn't want them, eh??
I like the story, because it has a delightfully WIN/WIN ending! It's instinctive to sort of give the bad guys "what's coming to them," but when everyone gets to leave happy, isn't that amazing?
The star downgrade is from I actually DON'T like the free stickers! They are very sparkly—TOO sparkly! It's difficult to tell what is actually on the sticker from the sheer sparkle from the background! I don't know much about sticker-making, but I'm sure it could've been toned down slightly to make the images appear clearer. As it is, I can barely make out what they're supposed to be. (It doesn't help that the prior owner of my copy used three of the six, probably as instructed: stick them in the designated areas in book 1 and book 2.)
Overall, a nice, wholesome read! Recommended for fans of magical creatures (and dogs)!
*though I'm still a bit confused by the difference between fairies and pixies... I think it's like the difference between horses and ponies?
in this tricking part they tricks greenie and meanie who are the dwarfs. they loves doggy that they steal dogs. they want to make a zoo in the otherworld to ge money. but at last when violet gave greenie and meanie an food they think that was delecious so they plan to sell that food that was given...
