Oh my heart...I'm so happy I continued this series and I know there's no such thing as a perfect ending but man this manga has one of the closest to perfect endings I've read in a while. So many things were resolved and all the characters were given such love and respect. I can't wait to read more of Rin Mikimoto in the future. From the writing, the characters, the artwork all of it was just so amazing.

I in no way expected this to finish as strongly as it does, much less in such an organic, non-creepy fashion for an age-gap romance that at times skirted some issues. (This should not be taken as the entire series or age-gap romances in general being creepy; this just had the potential to do the "marry out of high school" thing that I don't care for.) It's a grounded finale that respects both Hinana's goals and Kaede's, works with them, and still gives us the fairy tale. No complaints from me!

when i first started this series i wasn't sold at all, in fact i was considering dropping it after just the first chapter but i'm glad i ended up finishing it - it grew on me so much, as did the characters and their growth as individuals and as a couple! very sweet and surprisingly a wholesome and healthy couple considering the start of the series ^^

This final volume was well worth the wait! Oh my gosh, my heart was swelling more and more with each chapter, I thought it would burst! The art was incredible as always, and I love how everything wrapped up. Was it neat and perfect? Yes. Do I give a shit? NOPE.
Okay, final thoughts on this series: I honestly really loved it. Yes, it is effectively a manga soap opera and yes the drama can be a bit much sometimes (even, dare I say, contrived) but I had a fuck ton of fun reading it. Also, despite this being an age gap romance, I am genuinely impressed with how it was handled. Aside from a few possibly questionable moments, the age gap was handled respectfully and it never felt like there was an unequal power dynamic. And aside from Kaede's possessive language, I really loved the romance and thought these two were perfect for each other. The side characters weren't as developed as I would like, but I still liked them well enough. The artwork and art style was gorgeous and playful, a true feast for the eyes every volume. While this series won't be for everyone, I genuinely loved it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, drama-fueled romantic romp. Definitely one of my faves.

Volume finale per questa splendida serie che mi ha fatto emozionare, sognare ma anche divertire sin dal primo volume, e anche con questo capitolo la Mikimoto non si è smentita di certo.

The ending was happy and sweet. Not surprising by any means but hey, this is shojo not a thriller.
I mostly love this series for Kaede. He’s a great guy. He handled all the drama in a suave and mature way…and I thought his butt fetish was HILARIOUS!
I give this series a 4.5/5 stars. I loved this series. It was a fun and sweet read. I loved how the drama wasn’t the typical annoying shojo drama. I never felt like I wanted to rip my hair out. Yes, we got an age gap… It would definitely be problematic in real life but this is a FICTIONAL STORY (hell, Hinana is dating a goddang celebrity) so there’s that.
I recommend this series! The story is great. The art is beautiful. I hope we get more of this mangaka’s work in English soon!!! I will be all over it!!!!

After waiting for what seems like forever, I finally was able to read the LAST volume of Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight (I'll use KMSM for short)
The final 5 chapters of KMSM were no joke. The moment I started on Chapter 41 I was already crying, and I never stopped crying until I reached the ending. I love how Mikimoto-sensei was able to wrap everything up beautifully. Everyone, and I mean everyone had a happy ending and my heart was really going doki-doki from start to finish.
Truly, Mikimoto-sensei wrote another masterpiece with KMSM and I have even higher hopes at her latest work, Inazuma to Romance.

I picked up the first of the series on kindle unlimited to check it out and ended up reading the entire series ending up staying late to finish. I just loved the idea for this one the celebrity and the high school girl just works. I love that they both grew so much over the course of the series. This is a quick fast paced sweet whirlwind romance. I'm going to need these for my collection. I was super sad to see the series end but I'm so glad that I got a happy ever after. It's a beautiful story with equally beautiful artwork.

What a sweet ending! Im definitely a fan of this mangaka's work! Both of the mangas that I've read from her have interesting and lovely FMC's that you just can't help but root for, and the MMC's never fail to give me butterflies. It was fun to watch this couple fall in love and work hard toward their own goals. Loved it!

Volume conclusivo della serie che ci porta a vedere come si evolve la storia tra Hinana e Kaede, ma che fa anche da chiusura per le storyline di alcuni personaggi secondari - Shige, l'agente di Kaede, che finalmente diventerà il vero protagonista della sua personalissima storia d'amore, oppure Akira, il migliore amico di Hinana, che dovrà rinunciare al suo primo amore, ma non all'amicizia speciale che lo lega all'amica di una vita. Una scelta sofferta ma che gli permetterà di fare un passo avanti nella sua vita.
Per quanto riguarda i nostri protagonisti, beh, ne hanno fatta di strada, sopratutto Hinana che ora insegue senza paura i propri sogni, con grande fiducia nelle proprie capacità, forte del sostegno incondizionato di famiglia, amici e fidanzato. Lo stesso dicasi per il buon Kaede, sempre più realizzato sia sul piano professionale che dal punto di vista umano (visti anche gli ottimi rapporti con i vecchi amici dei Funny bone). Insomma, una coppia che ha saputo lasciarsi alle spalle dubbi e paure, entrambi capaci di camminare sulle proprie gambe, complici ma anche indipendenti - scelta che ho molto apprezzato.
Anche se questa serie non mi hai fatto impazzire particolarmente, ero comunque curiosa di leggere questo ultimo volume per vedere un po' come si risolveva il tutto. Un finale abbastanza prevedibile, ma comunque carino. Diciamo che, per gli amanti del genere, può essere una lettura consigliata, altrimenti si vive bene anche senza.

Hay dos aspectos que no me gustan nada de esta serie: el primero es el tópico del miembro muerto. Aparece como si fuera un juguete que el protagonista no devolvió y nadie aparece psicologicamente afectado por su suicidio, solamente lo usan inmaduramente para justificar un sin fin de ilegalidades, porque tampoco sirve para justificar aspectos de la personalidad del protagonista, ni el odio de los "villanos" porque lo odian por irse no por la muerte de nadie. Totalmente innecesario.
Por otro lado nadie, absolutamente nadie se cuestiona la diferencia de edad. NADIE. El único problema es el hecho de que él es famoso y ella "común". Incluso cuando se menciona que puede ser perjudical para su carrera se hace ningún tipo de problemática al respecto. La diferencia de edad no sirve ningún propósito, no nutre a la historia, no nutre a los personajes. Es absolutamente innecesaria. La historia podría haber funcionado igual o mejor si ella hubiese sido universitaria en vez de una nena de 16 años.
En resumen, la historia me parece buena. Lo que no me gusta es la forma en la que ciertos aspectos esenciales se desarrollan en lo absoluto.

Bello bello! Sono molto soddisfatta di questo manga, mi ha trasmesso fin dal primo volume sensazioni positive di gioia e amore.
Nonostante alcuni potrebbero ritenerlo "scontato" per il finale o "assurdo" perché insomma, quando mai sarebbe possibile avere una relazione con una star, mi è piaciuto proprio perché vuole trasmettere un messaggio positivo di speranza e di coraggio di credere in noi stessi. Non si parla solo d'amore, ma anche di realizzare e inseguire i propri sogni. È possibile per chiunque di noi, basta impegnarsi e non mollare mai. Hinana e Kaede ne sono la prova. Consiglio la loro storia a tutti coloro che cercano una boccata d'aria fresca e vogliono tornare a credere nelle favole. 💙

Quanto detesto i salti temporali e i capitoli riempitivi tanto per raccontare qualcosa. C'era ben altro da dire anziché mostrare la relazione di Shigeo e invece no. Se l'autrice voleva assegnare una parte un po' più importante al personaggio, avrebbe dovuto inserire prima quelle tavole e non alla fine, quando tutti i lettori si aspettano la conclusione per la coppia principale. Così abbiamo avuto alcune tavole di un matrimonio che non c'interessava e due scatti su IG di quello che avremmo voluto vedere. Trovata simpatica quella di IG, ma il resto?
E vabbé. L'ho trovato comunque carino, anche se mi aspettavo molto di più essendo l'ultimo volume.

Ein echt schöner Abschluss der Reihe. Finde es ein wenig Schade, dass Hinana und Kaede nicht allzu sehr im Fokus aller Kapitel standen, wiederum war es schön, von den anderen Charakteren mehr zu sehen. Hätte sogar gerne noch mehr von der Zeit nach Hinanas Abschluss gesehen. Aber die beiden sind echt süß zusammen. Bin froh, die Reihe gelesen zu haben, und für alle, die ein wenig Shoji-Zucker wollen, ist sie genau das richtige. Close to Heaven von Rin Mikimoto ist in meinen Augen immer noch einen Tick besser, aber ich freue mich schon darauf, in ihre neue Reihe einzutauchen.

Rin Mikimoto is slowly becoming my favourite mangaka, her work is warming and light and greatly comforting. Her stories are sweet and I love her artwork, the talent! I felt this volume was slightly rushed, seeing as though it’s the final volume in a long running series, I’d like to have read more conclusive parts for the side characters but nonetheless ‘Kiss Me at The Stroke of Midnight’ has finished on a pretty note. I’m definitely looking out for more Mikimoto goodness.

This was a really nice ending to the series! Hinana and Kaede are so cute together, and I really love how both of them have grown over the course of the series. The art was as gorgeous as ever, and the mangaka did a great job of tying up loose ends, which I really appreciated. Yay for Shige-chan! Overall, a super nice end to the series. It left me satisfied, with a smile on my face. 5 stars!

A perfect ending to this sweet shojo series. I had the best time with this one. Though he is a little over the top with his butt obsession, it dies down quickly, and their relationship is sweet, and much deeper than you think it will be in the beginning. I'm really happy at the result of this ending, because one character didn't sacrifice their dreams for the other one. It was excellent.
