I have to seriously stop reading books after I watch the movie or series. The books are always a let down for me afterwards. So you know the drill. Umbrella is a major corporation. Their presence is everywhere. The main facility is known as "The Hive" it is deep underground in Raccoon City. A classified research lab that houses about 500 employees, lab animals, and questionable creatures. Suddenly The Red Queen, state of the art security system, locks The Hive down killing everyone. A team is sent in to find out what happened and to reopen The Hive. Things get ugly real fast as the employees are dead, but not dead, dead. And let's not discuss what is in the employee cafeteria. I love all things Resident Evil. I wish I would have read the books first.

Lightweight, but surprisingly entertaining. The type of quick read i like, when i'm not sure what to read next & i don't want to invest much effort in a book.

A shining example of how little movie studios cared about novel adaptations.

Just absolutely terrible. It’s like the author never watched the movie. Every character has the exact same tone and personality.

Alice should not be making sarcastic quips or daydreaming about how nice Spence’s ass was. Which btw is another weird issue with this book.

Every time he expanded upon a character from the movie, it was ONLY in reference to their sex lives.

Every scientist we see die within the first 5 minutes of the movie, now suddenly have chapters worth of their dating history.

Just weird choices throughout.

All my highlights are actually lowlights. Moments that made me roll my eyes. I eventually stoped bc the entire book made me roll my eyes honestly.

Aquí hay un pequeño problema.

¿La parte agregada por el autor, el cómo le da vida y contexto a nuevos personajes o a aquellos que mueren al inicio de la película? Asombroso. Me encantó.

This was a really fun book to read. Many of the quotes are actually funny and it brings depth to each of the characters. I saw every one of these movies and really enjoyed getting to know the characters on a deeper level. Alice is much, much sassier and badass in this novel with more of the history and lead up to the actual events of the movie. We actually find out more about Lisa and Matt.

I do have to admit though that my image of One was a lot different than what he was in the book. I thought he had a lot more integrity than that; he seemed by the book, stern, but still human. Finding out his general apathy towards life just kind of ruined my image of the character.

Aw, well! Looking forward to get into the next one.

I enjoyed this book; if anything, it gave more insight into what the characters thought when everything was going on. I love the extra details given for the strike team that infiltrated the hive, giving them more character than what was seen in the movie. It also explained some of the situations a lot more than what the movie did, and that was nice to have, given that it was such a short book. I've seen the movie numerous times and figured I already knew what was gonna happen before it happened, in some of those moments, I was wrong but it was still a fun read.

Does the word "zombie" really have to be mentioned more than 5 times in one paragraph?

The novel, like the movie is quite entertaining. It is the same exact story, after all. The way it was written could have been improved, however. It's a good thing I've seen the movie a dozen times before because the events unfolding are not creatively described in this format.

Not a bad read that follows the events of the first movie in the series. Looking forward to reading the next one. I enjoyed the movie, being a fan of Resident Evil, and this book did it a great justice. Recommend any reader that enjoyed the movie to give this a chance!

Awesome read

This book allows you better understanding of the movie. Many things the movie does not explain. Go for this book
