Seriously one of the best "western genre" books I have read.
Wheeler knows the west, the horses, the trappers, the tribes, and has a pure concept of the landscape.
Clean language, except for Victoria's "son of a bitch" and "god damn" and no gratuitive sex.
Reading at its best.

Another fine novel of Barnaby Skye and his 2 wives. As you read it you can see yourself right by their sides.

The legendary Mr Skye and his 2 Indian wives agree to guide Quaker missionaries to a remote Montana outpost in 1853. Jawbone, his evil horse added spice.

i don't know how many times i have read this series. but i believe this is the best one. i was never a big fan of westerns until my father gave me these to read when i was about twelve. there's a very big love among the characters. "mister" skye, his horse & his two american indian wives. a family of guides, they lead travelers across the rocky mountains to the west. all the while trying to keep their own family safe, those whom they are guiding, & keeping the Comanches at bay. most loved book series!
