DOGS The First 125 Years Of The American Kennel Club offers a fascinating insight into the beginnings of dog sport in the US. Complete with beautiful photographs, decade-by-decade history, and thorough descriptions of the different competitions sponsored by the AKC. I especially enjoyed reading about the history and evolution of training methods, and the introduction of women into the organization. The book also briefly covers the history of some famous breeders, including former presidents, and famous dogs of the club's past. An interesting and comprehensive read sure to please any devout dog lover!
Excellent reference book. I purchased this book out of curiosity, remembering that my great grand father George was a past president of the American beagle club.
