Heart Strings

Rate this book
When Leilana Michaels moves to the Pacific Northwest to finish getting her university degree, she never expected to love the dreary, rainy weather. She didn’t expect that her roommate would literally be the bane of her existence. Nor did she expect her favorite courses wouldn’t be the ones for her major, but something completely out of left field. Most of all, she didn’t expect to fall head over heels for Ellie Wallace, the woman across the hall who plays cello music in the misty mornings and seems to be part of every club on campus. Ellie’s small, gentle hands and long fingers, running over the strings of her cello, fill Leilana with a fluttering warmth in her stomach she struggles to deny, much less cope with. Leilana longs to hear her music as much as possible, staying up to late hours to hear the humming across the hallway. It eases her stress and the music is addicting, almost as much as the image of Ellie’s soft, pastel-pink lips on hers, or the way her fingertips might feel in Leilana’s hand. With the chaos of a new school, a roommate where the animosity is mutual, and this budding love, Leilana doesn’t know how she’s going to keep her head above water. Please This book contains adult language and steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novel, approximately 30,000 words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger." Themes Contemporary, University, College, Bisexual, Lesbian, Comedy, Romance.

3 stars. Very sweet and quick read. The writing was pretty good but there was just something about it that didn’t really pull me in like I had hoped that it would. I do love a romance between roommates though and that’s what this was between Leilana and Ellie which I enjoyed. The development of their relationship was nice and they were likable enough as characters. I’ll read something else by this author as this had potential but it was fine.

Starting over can happen in the simplest way but love can be next door.

A delightful story of changing experiences that open you to a whole new world. Leilana transfers to the Pacific Northwest to finish her degree. Her roommate is such a completely selfish human that getting along is difficult at best CASSIDY makes living in her own room unbearable. The room next door has melodious sounds that sooth her stressed mind. Ellie is the cello player who touches her heart. The beautiful friendship that devolps as they grab moments of time between studies is priceless. The romance that grows between them is sweet and very hot. Aurora, Ellie's roommate helps make such a beautiful story even better by accepting Lana into their room. The dialogue is fun and so enjoyable. The characters are so lovable that you can't help but love the story. It is a fun read that touches the heart and is so good.

Good bits:
Leilana and Ellie were both likable characters
Romance was sweet
fairly happy ending.
Bad bits:
Cassie was both unlikable and uninteresting. She added nothing to the story
78 pages is a bit short to tell a meaningful story. It would have been nice to see more the time period between first quarter and graduation.
Cassie seemingly didn't suffer any consequences for being a bitch.

Shy and underrated

The two main characters are relatable. They fit. I love how they grow together. Love is best when taking time to develop. Please read. Enjoyable!!!

Another sweet story with a HEA by Jenny. I especially loved that the story included how great and important a real friendship can be. Besides the sweet love story of course. It definitely left me back with a smile.
