My review is on my website www.bookread2day.wordpress.com
For the best children’s books look for the bear logo that is Walker books. The front cover is very eye catching with Ella’s wand and stars that sparkle. This is one of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen. The story follows a teeny tiny girl named Ella, who can’t go out in the sun, but flys at night and shares her light with someone who needs a little bit of light during the night, specially her animal friends. Children will love the beautiful illustrations full of lots of fabulous little things to look for in the pictures. Of course I fully recommend buying this gorgeous book for your child. I do hope schools will buy this book for the classroom library.

I would like to thank Walker Books for sending me this gorgeous book to read and review.

Ella is a tiny fairy with delicate wings. Each night she wakes and flies around collecting light to give to others so that their way will be lit and that they won’t be so scared in the darkness. However, Ella had one wish, to see the sunrise, but her wings were so delicate that the light from the sun would break them, so as morning approached Ella always retreated to her little nook in a tree.

That is until those animals she had helped came up with a plan so that her wish could come true.

The first thing that you notice about Ella’s Night Lights is the illustrations. My word they are so beautiful. They really are special and would look good hung on a wall as a piece of art, as well as making this book stand out and look magical.

Alongside the illustrations is a charming tale which is all about friendship and being helpful, two very important lessons for children to learn. This is a book that is as good on the inside as that front cover looks. It is breath-taking, enchanting, and mesmerising and I completely adored it. I can see this becoming a firm favourite with little ones and it would make the most perfect bedtime story.

Adorable in both story and illustrations, Ella's Night Lights tells the tale of a tiny fairy-like girl who comes out at night to gather light and share it with those in need. Ella shares her light with a fox who becomes a dear friend and her light helps a young owl learn to fly. Ella's forest friends gather together to make Ella's dearest wish come true. She wants to see the sunrise, but he delicate wings can't handle the sunlight. Ella's friends find a way to share back with her some of the 'light' that she has given them. This is a tender story of giving and loving, friendship and service. Fleming's illustrations delightfully depict Ella's goodness and her friend's efforts to return her kindness. The sparkles make the light being shared jump out at the reader. This book is a sweet and tender story of friendship and the power of kindness and goodness.

A fordítás is remek, Szabó T. Anna munkája.

Ella collects light at night and shares it with those who need it most. Sadly, she cannot see the sunrise, her biggest dream, because of her delicate wings, but her friends work together to make her dream come true.

This book took me off my feet in terms of its beauty, light and message. The illustrations are delightful, everything a mind can find in its childish corners is beautifully depicted here: the brightness of stars in the sweet folding of night, the lightness of being of the main character, the goodness of her heart which passes on to her friends, who devise a way to enable her to watch her first sun rise! A lovely book if there ever was one! Five stars for lack of more.

Ella is a wonderful little fairy, but her wings burn in the sunlight. She can only come out at night, and she helps others by lighting their way. She makes other nocturnal friends, who in turn, help her have just a bit of day. This book was lovely. It was soft in all the right ways. The illustrations were charming and fit the story very well.

The illustrations are so detailed and aesthetically pleasing. I love the darker color palette of the navy blues and greys against the sprinkles of gold. Some of the rhyme felt a little forced to match the story, but the woodland creatures were charming and cute friends.

This is such a lovely story with some really beautiful illustrations! Ella, a little girl who lives in an old oak tree, spends her nights awake collecting pieces of starlight, reflections of the moon and lamplights. She gives light to those who need it, flyig around to help those afraid in the dark. But while Ella spends her nights awake helping others, what she truly longs for is to see the sunrise. But Ella’s wings are too delicate for sunlight and she doesn’t think she’ll ever get to see the sun, until her forest friends help her.

This really is such a lovely picture book that I couldn’t help but want to read it again and again! The story is a simple one but it is so magical and I love how all the forest animals help Ella in such a lovely and magical way. Ella is such a cute creature, looking like a little girl but having moth-like wings and antenna. The story is lovely on its own, but it’s the illustrations that really make this such a beautiful book to look at and so engaging to read.

The illustrations are all so detailed. Ella and all the creatures look so cute and I love how so many of the animals seen earlier on in some of the pages appear again as the story continues. The pictures are just so detailed and lovely to look at. There are lots of small things to spot in each double page image, so much so that I couldn’t help but just stare at each page for ages, taking in the wonderful and fun illustrations and the wonderful detail!

I am sure many children will enjoy this book, it’s the sort of picture book I would have adored as a child, due to both the lovely story and the beautiful pictures. Ella is such a lovely character, a cute girl but with moth-like parts. Somehow having a character resembling a moth but making it so cute and lovely, makes this such a lovely read, and it’s definitely a book me and my family will enjoy sharing again! 🙂

A tiny moth-winged fairy, Ella loved the light. Although unable to venture out in daytime, because the sun would melt her delicate wings, every night she gathered the radiance of the moon and stars, and of the lamps in the nearby human town, sharing what she found with everyone who needed a reassuring glow in the darkness. Aiding and befriending Sable the fox and Luna the owl, with whom she spent her nights in play, Ella led a very happy life. Her grateful friends, mindful of the help she provided to others, decided to find a way to fulfill her great wish: to see the sunrise...

Although she had previously illustrated many picture-books and beginning chapter-books, UK artist Lucy Fleming made her authorial debut with the 2020 Ella's Night Lights, which tells a sweet tale of a helpful little fairy (a word not used in the narrative), and how her kindness was rewarded. I found the story engaging, but the chief draw for me (and the reason I picked this up from a library display recently) was the artwork. I found the visuals here very appealing, appreciating both the wintry vistas (something I always enjoy), and the depiction of Sable (unsurprising, as a fox lover). The scene in which Sable is curled up around the tiny sleeping Ella is just magical! Recommended to picture-book readers who enjoy stories about fairies, forest animals, and any combination thereto.

Addendum: This is really a 3.5-star book for me, but I've decided to round up to four stars, given my enjoyment of the artwork.

This is one of the most beautiful picture books I've ever seen!
The spectacular cover matches the illustrations within but also has extra shimmer and shine. The end pages are also amazing and worth noting!

Ella is a teeny-tiny girl with moth-like wings and antennae and because her wings are so delicate, she cannot go out into the sunlight so she gathers bits of light at night and shares it with anyone who needs it. Ella makes many friends with her kind and giving spirit and her friends try to return the favor and help Ella see her very first sunrise!

This story is so touching. Ella is an incredibly kind and helpful being who shares her light and goodness with all. She befriends many critters that she helps and in turn, helps her deliver her light and return to her home before the sun rises.

This story is whimsical and is paired with amazing illustrations that really bring Ella and her 'magic' to light. There's tons of detail and texture in every page with lots of extra bits of 'light' that really make this magical. Ella and her animal friends are absolutely adorable and their friendship makes this a truly special story!

Title: "The Kindness Shines Through."
Rating: 5/5

Ella's Night Lights has been one of my favourite bedtime stories to read with my son with SEND needs. He loved the story, the illustrations and also seemed to feel the message of the story as he hugged his mother and myself tight after finishing.

This story revolves around a little moth girl called Ella (obviously) who cannot go out during the day for fear of her wings. However, she spends all her nights gathering lights for the various critters in the woods; using them to put them at ease and help them through their fears of the night. It is so sweet and radiated a positive message about being a good friend and helping those who are around you and sticking by them. Eventually though, the critters she has helped throughout the story help to keep a small slice of the night so that Ella can watch the sunrise together. It is a lovely cyclical story about kindness and putting the energy you want into the world.

I think that the images also help this story, my son and I loved Ella she was such a cute little bean and my son seemed to think so as he continuously coped and pawed at the image of her as we went through the book.

TL;DR - Cute little Moth Girl is cute and kind and this shines throughout the story.

Ella's Night Lights is a story about a moth girl named Ella. Ella loves to look at lights but she can only see them at night because otherwise, the sun would hurt her. However, she longs to look at the sunlight because it is the biggest and brightest light there is. In this story, Ella helps out many other creatures at night by giving them her night light. By the end of the book she has helped so many creatures and they want to help her so they create a fort for her to stay in so she can see the sunlight.

I love the concept of this story Ella uses her night light to give others Hope and she helps them out with their problems. The illustrations were jammed-packed with details that you could miss if you weren't paying close attention to. All together the message to "be a light" in this world is evident in this book.

I would use this book to teach students how a little bit of kindness towards others can go a long ways. Ella was a prime example of how we should always help someone out if they need it. Also, I can teach kids to treat others the way you want to be treated because in the end all of Ellas friends get together and help her with her dream.

I adore this book!!! I bought this book for the cover alone as it truly striking!! I love Lucy Flemings illustrations, so I knew I’d love the artwork in this book and each page is truly magical and stunning to look at. You could hang the artwork alone in a nursery or a little girls room, it’s that stunning.

The story follows a teeny girl named Ella, who cannot go out into the sun as the sun would burn her very delicate wings. So, she flies at night collecting light and sharing it with others who are afraid of the darkness and those who need some light. Ella’s one wish is to see the sunrise. After an evening of fun with her animal friends, Sable the fox gathers her animal friends together to hatch a plan so Ella can see the sunrise. They all work hard and Ella is beyond excited and happy.
If you ever see a tiny sparkle in the night sky, that’ll be Ella 🤩💛

The story in this book is really lovely, it teaches important lessons like friendship, helping others in need, being helpful and sharing our heart and lights with others. This book will be a firm favourite with children!

Ella is much like a moth and love the light. She cannot go into the light during the day because it will ruin her wings. So, at night she goes and gives light to people in need of it. In her helping, she meets Sable and Luna, a fox and an owl. They see how much Ella wants to see the sunrise and how much she gives light to others. One night, they got their friends together and created a den of darkness so that she could watch the sunrise without the light ruining her wings. She was given light after giving so much light. This book was a great representation of friendship. I loved how Ella's friends wanted to give back to her after seeing how much she gave to others. I enjoyed the positivity and love shown through the pages of this book. I rated it 4 stars because I think there are some better books about friendship out there even though this one was sweet. In a classroom, I would read this to my students to exemplify giving back in friendships. It could teach them how to recognize when someone is giving so much of themselves and to pour into those people as a friend.

The book Ella's Night Lights is about a little girl named Ella who is similar to a moth. She can only go out at night because it will hurt her wings, but when she does go out, she collects light. She brings the light to those who need it, and she has made a lot of friends from it. However, she really wants to see the sunrise. So her forest friends make her a den of darkness to see the sunrise.
I thought this was a charming and different book. I have never read a book about a moth, especially in such a cute way. I think the pictures are capturing and have a calming friendship feel.
I would definitely read this to my classroom. It shows friendship and how to lend a helping hand. While it also offers a cute side of a moth, I really appreciated the book's uniqueness, and I think the students would like it as well.
