Currently rereading--different aspects are jumping out at me. As I am doing sonship, I am really aware of how our parenting can lead to our children learning self-righteousness, or how we can consciously train them to understand their righteousness comes from Christ alone. I like how practical she is as well.

This book encouraged me in my marriage and parenting. I particularly liked her clarity in addressing which ideas were biblical commands, based on biblical principles, or just suggestions from another wife/mother from her own experience. It is easy to blur that line, and I think she handled tough topics with integrity.

An encouraging, convicting read with a gospel focus and many helpful suggestions and ideas to promote peace in marriage, home-making, and mothering. One of the last sentences says it well: "A peaceful home is measured by the extent to which Christ reigns."

I love Ginger Plowman! And this is a book I turn back to often to give me practical, cross-centered help in my role as a mom, wife, friend, daughter-in-law, etc.

Overall, very good. She covers many topics in one short book which is its great defiency, but what she has to say about a wife's/mom's role as a peacemaker in her house cuts to the core.

If you’ve already read her previous book, “Don’t make me count to three“, then you can just skip to pretty much the last two chapters of this book. The whole thing just felt like a rehashing of the previous book, and certainly not what the summary of the book leads you to believe is going to be the main focus.
