This book is a very in depth look into understanding the Tarot. While C.C. Zain does cover many aspects of the tarot, the bulk of the book is aimed towards the spiritual side of the cards and their many correspondences (Kabalah, Masonry, astrology, biblical references, etc.). It should be noted that the Church of Light correspondences vary greatly from other schools of thought. So you if are coming from a Hermetic background it may be a little confusing. Even if you don't agree with the correspondences there is still much to gain from this book. He includes very practical spreads which I have not yet come across before and interesting passages on subjects such as astral and thought vibrations. The back of the book also includes a test for each chapter which I believe are the same tests given to Church of Light initiates.
