Chiiiiiile, Bash was a whole female in this book. He and his insecure azz wife didn't do nothin but keep up drama. Luna Star finds herself pregnant after a one night stand with Bash. She runs into him two years later and he finds out he has a daughter. Queue the drama because, honey, this book was full of it. Bash just about drove me insane with his jealousy. Sir, how you gon' dictate who Luna Star dates or has sex with, what she wears, where she works, or how she should conduct herself as a lady when you have a wife at home waiting on you?!!! Bash was giving white privilege audacity because, he really tried it. And, for someone who walked the hood line, Bash consistently let Nichay manipulate him. I could not believe how he kept letting her get in his head. When he went off on Luna Star and threatened to take Sianna because he was jealous, I just shook my head at his stupidity. I really wanted to fight Bash. I straddled the fence on liking or disliking him because, Bash really did the most unnecessarily. I had absolutely no problems with Luna Star. Baby girl was living her best life, minding the business that pays her, and I was all the way here for it. However, I was frustrated that she wouldn't put Nichay and Jimmy on blast. There were at least three perfect opportunities for her to call them out but, she just would not do it. I was so annoyed with Luna Star but, when she finally whopped Nichay's azz, I quickly got over it. While their entanglement was far from easy and full of drama, Luna Star and Bash managed to make it work and eventually found their HEA. As always, Wesleigh Siobhan and Leon Nixon did a phenomenal job narrating. They did a great job bringing these characters to life. DND: Caught Up In His Love was a really good book and I enjoyed every single minute of it. Now, excuse me while I stand outside Tay Mo'Nae's office pretending not to stalk her while I impatiently wait on Nate and Joelle's story. I need to know the tea on Nate's past ASAP!

Bash & LunaStar started off as a one night stand which evolved into a friendship , then a relationship and finally a HEA....But, of course there’s a little twist that Bash has to let LunaStar in on before they can get to their HEA....I enjoyed this story....it will definitely be on repeat in my audio library....Leon’s narration was actually good in this story...and of course Ms. Wesleigh was Amazing As Always.

***SPOILERS***

So is every book dude named Bash a trash @$$ human?! I didn’t have any expectations going into this read but I was thoroughly entertained. This was a very relatable and realistic topic. This was a messy messy MESSY situation!! Bash made his bed but refused to lay in that mf 😩. I understand Bash was conflicted with his relationship especially if he married out of convenience but you made that bed so tuck yourself in my dude. No one could have known your one night stand would lead to a baby but come on dude you’re married!! If you want to be with ya baby muva then cut ties with your wife. The back and forth and mixed signals were not fair to Luna. I can appreciate that Luna respected the sanctity of Bash’ marriage even though he was trying to straddle the fence. She knew her worth and was not about to play side chick. Her confidence was EVERYTHING! Just when I wanted to give Bash the benefit of the doubt he proved that you can’t trust a F$&@boy. I know your wife didn’t try to convince you to take this girls baby on some jealousy!! A baby she didnt even like. Luna gave them both a run for their money at the cookout! Hunty!!! Hell hath no fury like a mama protecting her baby. The way Luna stayed checking Bash wife was comical. I initially felt bad for her but she showed her whole tail in this book and I knew she was on some shady ish. I didn’t believe for one second she held him down during his two year bid. The only pat on the back I can give Bash was that he instantly stepped up and was a father to his daughter no questions asked. Beyond that I’m not impressed. I’m glad Luna got her happily every after even though it should have been with someone else but then again we’ve all been dumb at one point or another over a no good dude/baby daddy 🤣.

Good read buttt

Okay. I have mixed feelings about this book. I understand why Bash married shay but at the end of the day he never act like a married man when he was around Luna. He kept saying he never crossed the line with her while married but them kissing in the kitchen at her house was crossing the line. I don't understand why everyone seemed ok with him treating his marriage like it was a joke but. I get it he had feeling for Luna but dude divorce your wife and keep it moving. Shay was mad out to be the bad wife but she was delt a shitty hand and was expected to be OK with it. Yes she was wrong for cheating as well but Bash didn't know about it until after the divorce so his cheating still wasn't justified. Then let's get into baby girls age she was an extremely advanced 1 year old but I was confused on the timing. All in all good read it you like the whole side chick become the main chic thing

Man Bash was not what I expected!!! Not good at all...

When I got this book, I was so ready to take my time and delved into it and enjoy...well I delved into it alright, but enjoying it was hard to do with these characters.
Luna Star would have been perfect if she was less jumping from one to another so soon (mo, Omar, and then mo)... This took away from her strong appeal and how well she portrayed herself of not settling for second fiddle or anything of this sort. She was independent and very headstrong, and it was a perfect character for this main role.
Sebastian "bash" was a lame douche and was so not a good main character. He gotten so many times on my nerves that there was no way I was going to be able to rate this higher than a 2 stars (it's even luckier to have it at 2). He was undecided, lame, soft, and all of this felling guilty and all was so lame and so not what a strong black alpha male needed to have as a characteristic. He definitely was not a main character goal.
Besides these lame characters, what truly was annoying was how Bash wanted to literarily have his cake and eat it to and yet when it was time for him to take action, stand up and put his foot down, he again backed down. Lame, lame, lame!!!
Then you have Luna Star after all of her bravado of not playing second, and not being led on, she turns around and let this exact same thing happened to her (the scene after the hospital) talking about that she didn't want to stay in the same house as Nichay and yet you slept there a few times, duh!!!
Nichay and Jimmy were needed a huge visit from Karma and I hope that Joelle and Nates story will be more exciting than this one.
Not too good at all!!!

Great work!!

Oh My God, Tay Monae!!! This book took me through it. I’m pretty sure I was having a combo of anxiety and heart palpitations for all 400+ pages. Great work on this book. Luna (or Moon as called by Bash) was my fave; she was as a good mother, a good provider, and she didn’t take no sh*t! Actually, as much hell as Nichay gave her, Luna handled it all very well. Bash was the bomb!! I loved his character but as equally as I loved him, there was a few times I was frustrated with his jealousy. But, after spending two years in jail and learning he fathered a daughter Bash stepped up majorly! He made parenting look easy. In my opinion, Bash spent too much time worrying about Luna when he should have been paying attention to his household because his wife, Nichay, was the worst!!! I still don’t think her grimy behind got enough bad karma. Lol. Seriously, I truly enjoyed this book! From the beginning, I knew it was going to be some craziness going on. The book drew me in right away and never let up. The main characters and the friends/families were well developed. The storyline was really good and I could not stop reading because I didn’t want to miss anything. There were some twists that kept me at the edge of my seat. A few times I wanted to throw my phone lol 🤣
I’m really sad to see these two go but I’m hoping we get a story on Nate and Joey!! 🙏🏾

***4.5***
Bash took the .5 points away from this story.

As much as I enjoyed the narration of this story and Wesleigh & Leon did an absolutely brilliant job...That Darn Bash got on my nerves!
I kept thinking he would redeem himself eventually. He did not. He reminds me too much of real men that I've dealt with in my life and can you say triggered!?!?! LOL I so appreciate the way Tay Mo'Nae put this story together with real life experiences. Not every book bae is going to be perfect and that's ok. But Bash...he is in a class by himself. This is probably the first time I really enjoyed a book/story but did not care for the main character. And that says A LOT, for how well this story is written, because if the storyline wasn't so good I would not have continued reading it.

Bash had me ready to run up in his mouth with his BS and his wife! I wanted to really feel bad for his wife because Bash did her wrong, cheated on her, and had a baby on her. But the way she was treating the baby, she deserved everything that was handled her way. Bash could really kick rocks because he clearly didn't care for his wife and acted like he couldn't understand why she was upset or why she acted the way she did. I didn't want him to WIN at all. Them two just had me stressed the entire BOOK.
Luna deserved so much MORE than what she was getting.

Joey and Nate need a story too!!

Bash and Luna were good for each other though how they met each other was random af. The craziest part about it was a baby coming from that one night. Nichay and Jimmy were doing way too much to cover up the truth. I liked how Luna stood her ground and didn't allow Bash to treat her as an option. I really feel like there's something there between Nate and Joey plus I would love to know more of background on them.

On the fence with this one

I didn’t hate Bash but I didn’t like him either he definitely made Nichay feel insecure CONSTANTLY. Bash was alway brushing her off calling her dramatic.
He was also dismissing her concerns about things between him and his baby mama when he knew she was right. I was 56% in and I didnt see any of the drama Bash’s parents said Nichay had nor did I see why Bash’s brother hated her. Bash didn’t like the clingy side of Nichay which I didn’t see either. All she wanted was to go on dates with her husband but he deemed that clingy behavior.
Bash had a baby while he was engaged to Nichay but he wants her to be motherly to his daughter. I’m glad that Bash is taking his responsibility as a father amazingly but expecting his wife to accept it after a few weeks is just unrealistic. Honestly Bash was just disrespectful to his wife being all touchy with Luna.
All Nichay’s concerns were valid.
Luna was confused about her relationship with Bash but what is confusing about the guy is married and keeps trying to check you like he’s not? Both of them kept crossing boundaries and acting like Nichay was crazy for seeing the obvious.
Bash’s started looking for reasons for Nichay’s odd behavior like dismissing the whole…he had a baby with another woman. As well as the fact he stepped out on Nichay frequently before he married her.
I was annoyed that everyone was trying to tell Luna how to feel and encouraging her to be with Bash who btw was still married. Not on some gold digging bs but just completely ignoring the fact that Bash is MARRIED!
Closer to the end it seemed like Nichay was forced to be the bad guy so Luna and Bash can be together.
With Nichay it was like her character was the bad guy because the story needed one.
She was NOT perfect but I would love to see Nichay get a HEA.
Mo was drama free and I was liking him more than Bash. I actually love me some good drama but Bash came of as a hypocrite.

Unpopular opinion, but this was not for me.

So it wasn’t the writing that was the issue, but the storyline. Being that I don’t mind dark romances and cheating in romance is not a problem for me. But this!!! Naw, nope.

The way the couple’s relationship began was a no, IMO that made the ability to reform and create something healthy an uphill battle. And I don’t think it happened. I didn’t like any of the main characters, but if I had to choose it would be Luna. I love her independence and confidence. The one person I did like and it NEVER changed was Mo. Even the final interaction with Luna demonstrated his maturity, something both main characters lacked.

And MAJOR eye roll at that ending. Sorry, I just couldn’t get with this🤷🏾‍♀️.

I couldn't rock with Bash. I can't stand a trifling man, and Bash was that. I couldn't even finish the freaking book because I knew Bash was on some wanting his cake and eating it too type of mess. He told his dad he wasn't going to go there, but a few days later, he's in the kitchen licking/kissing Luna's neck like he don't have a whole wife at home 🙄 I called it quits after that because it was gonna only escalate from there. Luna was okay but every time Bash walked into the room she started acting dickmatized; so I wasn't feeling her either.

okay.

This was an okay-ish romance if you don’t mind infidelity-heavy behaviour and slightly less than mature MMCs who in fairness, develop in the course of the story. For me, this isn’t a dealbreaker as such, it’s just that I then felt at times that the hero tried to gaslight us into accepting his ain’t-ish behaviour, like just own it and don’t try to pretend you’re “one of the ‘good guys’.”

The premise is that after being framed for a crime he didn’t commit and spending time in prison before being acquitted, Bash returns to his old life only to find out he has a daughter with Luna Star, the Instagram model/baddie/club promoter he hooked up with at his bachelor party. This novel follows Bash and Luna Star as they figure out their way co-parenting especially as Bash’s infidelity comes out and he has to deal with his wife’s reaction.

To me, the way Bash’s wife was villainised in this could have been better executed. For example, because his mother and friends never liked her, there was room to articulate why. By not doing so and by waiting till his infidelity comes out and she learns about his daughter, it feels like she is made a villain to excuse Bash’s cheating, even when Bash “owns” that he wronged her (and really does he, though? Or does he just say the right things?). That said, this was entertaining enough that I felt like finishing it. The sprinkling of the side characters (Joey and Nate) we got makes me definitely want to check out their book as I liked them more than Luna Star and Bash and wanted more of them here. One other issue with this book is that it needs some significant proofreading as it’s not just spelling mistakes but a number of malapropisms that at times obscured what the characters were trying to say.

That said, this being my first book by this author, I’m motivated to check out the related book from Joey and Nate.

Bash stood on business when it came to his daughter. Absolutely no hesitation of taking care of baby girl once he found out about her. He didn't always make the best life choices, but once he got it together, he turned things around. I didn't like his insecure and miserable wife.

Luna Star is such a beautiful name. She stood on business as well. Provided a great and stable life for her daughter.

I love the chemistry between him and Luna Star. She was always real and honest with him.

The way a one night stand turned into a love story.

Luna Star needed to stand up MULTIPLE times and that Bash needed to just go on about his business if we are being honest.

The wife oh the wife… baby I thought you were innocent but I guess not. I didn’t like her from the jump but I can say she deserved respect as a wife because BASH tf was you on???

This was an overall great story.

This story really stuck with me! I think the creator did a fantastic job because I felt so many different emotions while listening to the audio. It reminded me of a Tubi movie! Even though I didn’t end up liking Bash in the end—he just didn’t seem very manly to me—I felt like everyone ultimately got what they deserved.

Loved it!! Bash was a little annoying at first with his possessiveness (typical BD thinking)...like how are you jealous when you have a whole wife? You can't have your cake and eat it too. I loved Luna Star's character!!

It was okay

The idea of the story was fine but it was annoying to keep reading how Bash kept saying he didn't touch Luna when he was touching her, pressing up against her and kissing her the entire time. He was definitely cheating emotionally as well. I would've liked it better if he would've respected his marriage and waited until he decided to leave her to do anything. The other issue is the apparent lack of editing and poor grammar. This author never has great grammar but this was some of the worst I've seen from her. I'm hoping Nate's story will be better. The cheating, the grammar and the fact that her name was Luna Star and they couldn't just call her Luna was annoying.

I had the overwhelming urge to just slap ppl in this book. First starting with Bash. Sir, why are you jealous when you married?! Idc if how it was done. Then had to nerve to not tell Luna Star having her thinking she had a small chance after the baby reveal. I cussed this whole book. It felt so real because unfortunately couples deal with this type of madness everyday. I was happy when Bash just let go of trying to keep his wife “happy” and just let that lady go. Knowing someone for a long time doesnt mean they need to be your spouse. Wonderful ending and lessons finally learned.

Love it

DND: Caught Up In His love is about Instagram model Luna Star and business man Sebastian Greene. They have a night of passion and don’t see each other for 2 years. In their 2 years apart she gave birth to his daughter and he did time. They see each other in passing and the attraction is there. 5 stars for Luna Star and Bash! This story had the drama, the heat and the sweet! And who can forget cutie pie Sienna Star!

Whewwww real deal drama

Cover is what got me for this book. Didn't ever read the synopsis. Storyline was realistic which made for an easy relatable read.

There were a couple inconsistencies with the book and some errors but NOTHING to make me not support this author again.
Bash and Moon were a great example of co parents.
I loved his parent and that damn wiiiife was a certified Bih.
Will be checking out her catalogue asap.

Love love loved this book

I freaking loved this book. Luna Star, which is the best name ever, and Bash. The chemistry they had just jumped off the page. I’m a sucker for unexpected pregnancy books and the author did her thing with this storyline. My heart hurt for Luna Star but I respected her for not trying to be a home wrecker. True love won in the end. Once again great story!

I haven’t read a book yet that has disappointed me by Tay. I’m so happy Bash & Moon found their way back to each other even if at the very end. The plot was very interesting and held my attention from chapter 1. I definitely would like a story about Nate and Joelle (if one hasn’t already been written )
