Written at the brink of the new millennium—so basically English law recognizes a representable trans body following 20th-century legal cases (focusing on trans women in this case) as long as it’s restricted within the confines of heterosexual marriage… AKA to be worthy of identity + rights in the law as a trans person you must achieve a perfect semblance of womanhood… and in recognizing that possibility , the law accidentally proves to itself that it can recognize trans women as women . But not all trans women , and not most of them either… but it’s possible . so by law you are both a woman and excluded from womanhood . slay mother™ as you serve the Tina-the liquor-the-coke baddie house down [derogatory] as i silently shift the Overton window of your respectability and dangle the carrot of your realness in front of you 😋😇
