Kings of Comedy: The Unauthorised Biography of Matt Lucas and David Walliams

Rate this book
When Little Britain appeared on British screens, a series of characters was born that would make a nation laugh like no other comedy in years. With its hilarious mocking of British stereotypes, it was not long before catchphrases were born and it didn't take long for the comedy to catch on with fax in the U.S. as well. This biography looks at the two relatively unknown comedians who became entertainment heroes, shooting straight to the top of Britain’s celebrity A-list. Although such success was new to them, Matt and David's creativity led them to write two more astonishingly successful series; earning countless industry accolades, numerous comedy awards, and two BAFTAs. The individuals behind the sketches are explored here, including their first meeting in 1990, their off-screen lives, the truth behind the various rumors around the pair, and Matt's favorite sausage. The paperback is fully up-to-date and includes details on David Walliams’ charity swim across the Channel.
