Mostly a guide about buying things, with some occasional useful tidbits about the practicalities of hawking. Lots of discussion about the "wrong sort" of people, which I'm not really here for. Anyway if you want to know what an upper-class-aspiring Brit thinks about falconry (he loves it and likes to buy really expensive falconry things) this book is for you. Otherwise get one written by an American, they have much fewer class pretensions.
It was a nice book, and I enjoyed reading it. But I feel the information is a little old. It may not be, since it was written by him in a different country, so that many be it. But quite a bit of the information did not really help me. But I do feel that others may get something out of it.
Not the greatest falconry book to base any actual training on, but good for someone who may show some interest or are curious about falconry and wants to know what's involved.
