Not bad. But this book inspires me nothing new.
The author told us that Bismarck was no genius but an outstanding diplomat. As a realist, it seemed that he insisted on nothing and always changed his policies. So Bismarck's career looked like a boat being patched up. Once Bismarck handed out his power, this boat would collapse.
The criticism of Bismarck arose after 1968, not after 1945. Actually, when the second world war ended, two Germanies occurred and people really remembered the efforts of Bismarck making a strong united Germany.
