5 fucking blowing mind bloody stars.
This book is amazing!!!
Very dark, with very describing scenes. It might be a trigger to some people.

This story begins when Micha Ragen, a 12 years old boy, sees thought a peek hole, his older brother and his father being killed, while he stays hidden with his mother in a closet.
(...)Father mouths, ‘Forever with the sun, moon and stars I will be in love with you.’ He nods at me. I know what he means, he has been training me in secret with my big brother for years. With that the man in blue slices the blade along his neck.(...)
They run to her father in Chicago.

This is a dark romance, with more gore than romance. It's Micha vengeance.


He starts killing Damon Gallo men, but waits to kill him, he wants him scared.
He's known for The Riddle, but no one knows who he is.

Until he sees her...
He starts stalking her, while keeps killing men that killed his family and the people his grandfather tells him to kill.


He's got an enemy in his cousin, Ian...

It's a very addicted story.
Couldn't put it down until it was finished.

Forever a fan. Silent Echos was short, fast paced and was a thrill to read. Aleisha Maree has captivated me with this and I want more.
A real page turner from start to end, the revenge Micha craves is beyond addictive.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how the characters had their own personalities that just made this story great.

This is a novella sized read and comes recommend.

This story is filled with angst and devotion. It revolves around family loss and getting revenge. Falling in love for the first time. It takes you on an emotional ride you won’t wanna get off. I couldn’t put it down.

My first book by Aleisha Maree and I'm hooked! Having watched his father and brother be murdered as a child, Micha becomes the adult of peoples nightmares a ruthless killer seeking revenge on the men who ripped his family apart. Being part of the Italian/ Irish mafia enabled Micha to one by one pick of the men responsible as well as gaining notoriety within their world. But the main man in his father and brothers death, Damon, was a death he wanted to savour. It's not until he see's the little red head the woman he has followed, dreamed of, desired and wanted crying in her uncle's garden one stormy night when he goes to take out two of Damon's men and finally gets a taste of her that he knows he has to save her before his revenge can take place. Filled with loyalty, betrayal, revenge, desire, action, humour and more this is a great read that's nicely paced through out

This book starts out so tragic as a young boy and his mother witness the murders of his father and brother. At 12 years old he knows he'll stop at nothing to avenge the destruction of his family.
Micha Ragen, born Shamus Walsh, and his mother went to live with her family after the murders. He's been guided and groomed since that day by his grandfather and is now the best hitman in the Mafia. He's slowly gaining on the six men he's after and one by one he'll get them. On top of all of this Micha's cousin Ian is giving the family problems. The bright is that he has his eye on a young woman that works at a coffee shop. He watches her from afar and wonders why she's always so sad. Layla, the niece of the man Micha has been planning for. With her uncle under duress, she's looking for a way to escape his abuse and she may have just found her out. The journey with Micha and Layla is not your typical love story but beautiful none the less and absolutely well worth going on with them.

Oh wow! I didn't expect liking this book, it really hold my interest and attention from the get-go its very graphic and gore and I'm digging it so much. I'm just sad that this book isn't a full-length. Mainly because I like to see more of Micha and Layla's story. Well the ending is fine, but it leaves me wanting more.

She is confident and fierce. She could destroy me with one flick of her blade and I would allow it. I’d die for it. I’d destroy the world and all that’s in it just to keep her safe.

With revenge in his heart will he be able to keep what he has found or will revenge be all he sees? Absolutely fantastic read that will have your heart and head all over the place. It has everything you would want plus a whole lot more. Can he live on revenge alone or will he find more than he bargain for with Layla? Definitely can't wait to read what she has next.

Hell’s teeth!!! With this book, Silent Echoes, Author Aleisha Maree delivered one hell of a short and deadly punch to the gut. Sheeeeee-it, once started, there is no putting this damn book down until the last page is reached!!!

Micha Ragen has one mission only, exact revenge, and take you for one adrenaline filled ride along with him. There is no getting off this crazy train!

I have so many thoughts and tag lines that want to be written here, but for fear of spoilers, I’m getting my trap shut. I have just one recommendation; do not pass this book up. Even if time is short, this is 13 Chapters that you need to get into. Thing is, Ms Maree doesn’t spoon-feed her readers and her writing style is almost a riddle in itself, so there is a need to be totally immersed in this plot. Mind you, it’s that intense that once you’re in, you’ll almost be wearing virtual ear muffs anyway.

Right from the start, I was thrown into Micha’s deadly world and heard his broken promise to exact revenge. No one knows who he is but, but they know when he’s coming, and where he’s been is felt everywhere.

He is the deadly silence, and he won’t stop until the silence echoes no more ...

Silent Echoes captured me and held me hostage, from start to finish. Micha Ragen is out for revenge, his whole world destroyed in a matter of minutes. He has sworn to make the men responsible for the death of his family pay with their own blood. This book is not a full on romance, yes there is a love interest but it is not the heart of the story. The heart of the story is a boy growing into a man and fulfilling a promise he made to himself and his family. Micha is powerful and intense; his thirst for revenge drives him. I love Micha and I loved this book. It's fast paced and intriguing and keeps you pulled in and rooting for Micha. The way Aleisha Maree tells the story has the reader craving revenge right along with Micha. You won’t be able to put this book down.

Silent Echoes is my first but certainly not my last read by this author.

Micha vows revenge on the people that murdered his father and brother. He will do whatever he has to to get his revenge. Seeing Layla she is like a light in his darkness.

I tried a lot with this book but I didn't like it. The lead male character, that is, Micha Ragen was relatively good . However, the female lead was so complicated to understand. I felt like she had two different personalities with the way her behaviour shifted. She was broken and miserable and shy at one moment and then wanting to shoot someone with a gun in another claiming she wants to have some fun. I did like the riddle part though. The ending could have played out differently. It felt too easy.

This is my first read by Aleisha Maree. I tend to stay away from the dark, gritty, and angry stories. However, I gave this one a chance and it was well worth it. The story written entirely in the POV of Micha Ragen, and while I usually don’t enjoy just one POV when it is in 1st person I felt that the story would have suffered if Maree had included Layla’s narrative. This was a story of anger, redemption, revenge, and love. As a young child, Micha witnessed ruthless behaviors in his life, and this is the culmination of his vengeance against those that wronged his family. This is a quick read, but the length does not disrupt the quality of work.

If I was a fan of this style of dark mafia and the foul language that is normal to the style I would probably rate it a five like all of Maree's fans have done. I am giving 4 stars because I do appreciate the fast pace, the unique story line and how it was executed. I just feel the dialogue between characters was stiff and unnatural. Even during the erotic scenes the dialogue was out of place. Just my opinion. What I don't like about the story others have loved. Book has great ratings so the story style of the gritty under world is worth telling. Great cover art!

This is a fast paced read with a great cast of characters. This is a story about doing everything towards getting revenge and then being thrown a twist. Mica is working his way to kill the man who killed his family and then she appears. He is completely all in and has no problem adjusting his present to include her. This book is from the point of view of the hero. The supporting characters are great. Hopefully there will be a story about some of the others.

This was such a great dark read. This is not your typical read, and one I found that I could not put down until I finished.

Micha Ragen is on a mission, he wants revenge. He is about to go a wild ride, one that is twisted and dark all in the name of revenge.

Even in the shortness of the book, or maybe it was just because I could not stop reading, you need to pay attention. The writing itself is a sort of riddle, one that if you do not pay attention you will get lost.

So overall this is a great story, one that you will get lost in.

This is my first time reading anything from this author and I enjoyed reading this book. It’s an intriguing fast paced plot about one man’s quest for revenge that is interrupted when he sees Layla whom he falls for. I enjoyed the author’s plot, writing style and pace so I’ll be looking out for more from this author in the future.

What an amazing read. It was an emotional rollercoaster of a read but I absolutely loved it. I am so hooked on Aleisha's work and this was another amazing read by her. Beautiful written storyline and characters.
It works through emotions and then getting revenge on the people who killed his family.

This is a book by a first time author for me. I love mafia romances, so I have this one a go. A vengeance held by a boy, later taking his revenge out as a man. He was cold and underling until he sees layla. Micha gives into his need for her and together they deal with the man who ruined both their lives. Good read.

I love dark romance and mafia books so of course the blurb really attracted me. It was well written and the overall storyline definitely had potential. The issues for me was that the story was told solely from the MMC perspective. It would have been nice to have a chapter or two from the MFCs perspective. Also I get this is a story of revenge but it was just too over the top, all that Micha thinks about is revenge! This is supposed to be a dark romance....where was it? The odd sex scene is not romance. It would have been nice to have a longer book where the chemistry can build between the characters. This was more a mafia action book.Everything felt a bit robotic. Sorry It just wasn't for me.

I felt like this story started well, but then it seemed to go downhill for me quickly. For someone who is taking out killers, he was pretty non-concerned for his safety, and the girl who was being watched by two goons then suddenly starts being able to have her own time away? Time alone with each other, not thinking they were under surveillance, smoking while on a stakeout, her suddenly growing a pair thinking she could take on her enemies alongside her man? The more I read on, the more improbable the story became, and I quickly lost interest.
