This short book is near and dear to my heart. One of the authors is the brother of one of my very best friends (L. Gordon McLester).

I came late upon this book, not knowing about its existence, until I was at the home of my friend and he showed it to me. I received a copy as a gift last Christmas, much to my delight, as it has been out of print for quite some time.

Being of both Oneida heritage and Italian, I walk with a foot in each world. I always knew Gordon was a wealth of knowledge and was highly revered and well known in the Oneida community. This book covers a variety of topics, from stories of creation and morals, to cooking, to living in long houses, and on to the modern dances and pow wows we know so well.
