In this installment of Zoey Matthews we see her world fleshed out more and are introduced to new characters as well as reintroduced to many old ones.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was everything a good sequel should be. While it's similar to the first book in tone with many of the same characters we see the introduction of some new and interesting characters. The story is even more interesting than the first with a new crime to solve that also involves a new horrific artifact with a horror story of it's own.
The writing style is the same as before, though there is a printing error with half the ending chapter reprinted after the ending of the book but that is easy enough to ignore. I felt propelled from one chapter to the next at breakneck speed which is my kind of writing. I never felt the story lingered too long on any one thing. Things feel natural.
The characters themselves are all very unique and feel very real. The main character is one I can easily continue to root for and her family is full of a variety of unique personalities that makes me feel more invested in the story as a whole.
This series really is great. Especially if you love urban fantasy. The characters are compelling. The mystery is intriguing, and the pace is perfect. This book is a fabulous example of how to do a sequel right.
There's not many stories that are better than the original, but Bridgeport Mystery 2 succeed brilliantly. So glad I bought all the books so far up front.
Really enjoyable read. I can't wait to see where the story goes next as Zoey expands her circle, makes more unnatural discoveries and discovers her own power. Great supporting characters and an intriguing story.
I enjoyed this novel. Easy reading and captivating story. There are a few errors, not enough to truly spoil the reading but it was annoying. The epilogue is repeated.
Some circumstances require a response. Even if you had no interest in getting involved. Becoming the last in a line of people running from the evil truth won't make it go away. Finding the right solution is a treacherous task.
I'm irritated that I have to wait for book 3. It's only a few days so I guess I will be ok. Definitely a story that holds your attention and makes you want to read more.
This was an entertaining book, but not a page tuner! I personally did not care for the Narrator's voice to abrasive to my ears. Just not interesting enough to buy book 3.
