THEN
When twenty five year old Anna Finchley is dragged to a strip club known as "The Forbidden Fruit" by her friend Jackie, she has no idea that her life is about to change. Despite her resentment for the place, and her fear of being grounded by her parents, she finds herself falling for Harrison Starr; one of the male strip-tease artists, who shows Anna a new and exciting world she's never seen before.

NOW
Anna Finchley is now twenty nine, and has just moved into a new house with her three year old daughter Grace. The house happens to be right next door to Dylan Wanstead; her ex-boyfriend and her first love. Despite having ended their relationship amicably four years ago, both of them find themselves quickly falling for each other once again.
But this time they both have secrets; secrets which they're not willing to share. And it's these secrets which could drive them apart, or maybe bring them closer together.

As someone who grew up reading any book I could get my hands on it wasn't long until I realised I wanted to be an author.
I've been writing stories since I was in school and over the many years I have developed my craft into what it is today.
After studying journalism at university I found my inspiration to become a writer and have self-published two books so far, with many more to come.
I am always writing and working on any ideas that come to me. I also always have my journal with me so when inspiration hits I have a way to document it.
I'm an avid reader too and keep a book journal where I review all the books I read.
I believe all writers should be avid readers as I've discovered it's the best way to hone your writing skills and improve your own work.

💬My thoughts:
Friends are the family we choose to surround ourselves with and it is their presence in our lives which keeps us going: overcoming hurdles, sharing the highs and lows and keeping each other’s back. This being the premise made the book a sweet one. The read itself moves fast. A few time gaps took a while to get adjusted to and some parts felt a little unrealistic. It could be that since it is a short read, falling in between a novel and a novella, there wasn’t enough space to develop the characters. As a result, the end felt very abrupt.

I liked the premise but perhaps I’m not the target audience for this book. A younger generation would perhaps find it much more relatable.

But age irrespective, friends and friendships are for keeps. The ability to sift the chaff from the grain and to believe in and believe the other, is what friendship is about; and what this book highlights.

Thank you @andreaoauthor and @lovebookstours for the #gifted digital copy of the book and a spot on the book tour.
