The Dark World has placed a bounty on Sabrina's head, and a rogue vampire intends to claim it. A relaxed holiday gathering is interrupted when Sabrina is attacked by a demon in disguise. Stripped of his power, disgraced vampire Bjorn Tremayne takes advantage of the melee and seizes the opportunity to escape with Sabrina. Pursued by both Vasyl and the dutiful Nephilim, Bill, Sabrina has to rely on her instincts to survive. But can she fulfill her destiny?
I hate being the first one to rate this and it not being more than two stars.
This story was convoluted; was confusing with too many POVs; was too long and filled with errors (needed editing for length, clarity and grammar); and was without a satisfying ending.
As the Sibyl, Sabrina now has a bounty on her head and all sorts of supernatural creatures want to mate with her. So far, it's Vasyl, Dante, Tremayne, Bill, Hobart (although we see very little of him in this book), and a new Ware named Chris (who sounds like a hottie). And I'm sure I'm missing something.
It's pretty clear that NO ONE IS WHO THEY SEEM and I walked away from the book feeling sad for our Sibyl who is pretty much alone. Vasyl may love her, but I don't think he gets her. Dante's dead/undead, Tremayne is essentially a rapist/opportunist, Bill, who I thought was evil the whole time, may not really be and in the end can never be with her. [attempting to avoid spoilers here] And poor Chris keeps sniffing around, but he's far back in line.
And, if it's the last in the series (which is not clear), we're left hanging with questions: Will she fulfill the prophecy? Will her eggs really work for the Nephilim? What's going on with Tremayne (will he live or die and if he lives, will he regain control of his business and NAVA)? WHO WILL SABRINA END UP WITH?
It's a little thing, but I need to say it: at the end, where Sabrina opens the briefcase and sees the money, she refers to them as "Jeffersons". So, were they $2 bills?? HA HA? Or did the author mean Benjamins as in Franklins as in $100 bills?? And what's with the title? The title did not jibe with the story.
So not an average Vamp/Shifter book!! Amazing.. I could not put it down.. nor the 3 before it.. (just ask my husband..LOL). Sabrina keeps collecting and loosing people / supernaturals all around her - and so many of the are just jaw dropping.. and the evil.. well, they are dispatched quickly!..Her struggles with her husband Vasyl, ex-lover Dante, wannabe lovers Bjorn & Bill...and a leprechaun who thinks he's helping..wonderful!!! I finished this book and immediately went to her web site... THERE HAS TO BE MORE!!! Thank Goodness, faires, gods, what ever.. yes!!! Another is there; just bought #5!!! ... sorry, hub.. I will be occupied this evening!!
An amazing chase across country to evade her ever increasing enemies. An extreme betrayal, I don't believe I could have forgiven. Great story and characters that steal the reader's attention. Definitely a series not to miss.
