Rand Sloan a horse trainer, has just learned that his siblings, Seth Blackhawk and Lizzie Blackhawk, whom were presumed dead in a car crash that claimed the lives of their parents are very much alive. Rand was adopted by Mary and Edward Sloan immediately following the accident.
Meanwhile, Grace Sullivan has been trying to get in touch with Rand. She works with Horse Adoption Agency and she's come to hire Rand to round up some wild horses in Black River Canyon.
At first he turns her down but later changes his mind.

I finished Taming Blackhawk last night, and boy was I ever pleased! It was a brisk and sensual love story featuring a modern working girl and her cowboy lover, Rand Blackhawk. The family secrets of Rand were wrapped up quickly and tidily, and gave the book a little more gravitas. I was a bit disappointed that the heroine was a virgin, and felt her life would be incomplete without a husband and a "passel" of children. However, I forgive the book for those characteristics for this is a romance novel not a post-modern feminist theory text book. (Hmmm, I suppose, as a feminist, I would say that it is okay for a woman to chose to want to have a family.)

This book was good..not great but not awful either. Even by romance book standards the pace was a little overly fast sort of like cramming a movie into a tv show episode. I liked the characters well enough and the plot was decent but i feel like the blurb overstates a little...there really werent any shocking secrets. A decent quick read but its one of those books that you forget about 15 minutes after you finish it. The characters weren't strong enough and the plot wasn't exciting enough to really stand out. I'd say its worth reading but not buying...most likely going into my giveaway pile

Pleasant, definitely not the worst category romance I've read, but also not one that stands out. Several of the scenes (such as a nightmare-leads-to-first-sex-scene) gave me a definite feeling of deja vu. I might read another by this author (as I believe there are a couple more titles available through my library's e-collection), but there was enough of a paint-by-numbers feeling to this book that I'm not inspired to search out more.
