Hit man Jack Conlin, returning from a job, wanders into a small Midwestern town that isn't on the map and discovers the centrality of a mythic figure the Bone Man, a moving, dancing skeleton who appears, without fail, in the annual Hallowe'en parade. Intrigued by the town's devotion to this impossible apparition, Conlin decides to see for himself just what will happen as darkness falls and the parade lights begin to glow.
Like ghostly tales of supernatural vengeance? Try Frederic S. Durbin's great little novella _The Bone Man_. Terrific stuff. Reminiscent of Ray Bradbury, but not derivative. A finely crafted story, and with a post-script vignette about the author's experiences that lie just beneath the telling of the tale. Five stars.
good short spooky read! didn’t make me scared but it did make me uncomfy a little bit?? would def recommend if someone just wanted a quick spooky book to get caught up on a reading goal!
