I thought this was a very good book. Kind of a romance and adventure story, compelling. Once I started this book I felt like I couldn't put it down.
Something to consider if you are thinking of reading this book:
This book was written in 1911. Most of the story takes place in what was for a time Rhodesia. Most of the characters are white settlers - mostly English. The book reflects the thinking of the time regarding British colonial expansion in Africa. It is a different attitude than most of us have today. People of color in the book are "natives" and don't really take much part in the story. If you can get past this, I think you will enjoy the book.
