The Black Brothers Series. Order of Books The Escort Forbidden Fruit The Brothers Black The Blackest Heart The Protector This book contains material of sex and submission and violence. I began writing dark erotica in 2014. I found that it really irritated me how authors bring down their male leads and make love stories sappy. I continually began to feel unfulfilled with reading. So I wrote a book how I like to read it. I find that although my stories are full on and seem a bit much, so many of my readers have connected to them. I try to tone it down ever so often in my books, but I find I write better the harder the material I write about.
Where to start on what is wrong with these books . Let me start by saying having read the entire "Black Bothers Series that this author writes the same story again and again just changing the names .
These books are about psychotic psychopathic brothers .There is not one jot of love or tenderness in any of these books . We are asked to believe that after brutally raping their virgin women and not giving a damn about how much they hurt them, then going on to beat them repeatedly that for some insane reason these women are supposed to fall in love with these guys ?? Why ?? They are slapped ,punched, locked up ,raped repeatedly as no is never an option. They are humiliated and degraded and made to take whatever these so called men decide. If they so much as look at another man they are choked, slapped unconscious or threatened with death ,with knives held at their throat or a gun at their head .Such love huh ? It may have been slightly more believable had there been interims of kindness or tenderness but the sex is always brutal. In each story the men cheat on their so called "loves" even to the point of making them watch.Pregnancy doesn't stop the abuse and in one of the books a brother feels it's just fine to bite his 18 month old daughter and sling her in a playpen to cry herself to sleep . Any woman who has ever been in a battered wives home will recognise their excuses "she made me act like that " "I couldn't control my jealousy ,she made me insane".Their hypocrisy is hard to swallow when each abusive brother then tries to "protect" his brothers mate .
There are NO hero's or dominants here .There are weak ,insecure psychos end of . I just kept reading ,praying that they would finally get there just rewards but no. The author ended the series taking the ONE slightly decent man a friend of the family known as "The Protector" and turning him in to yet another psychopath. I'm going to be very kind and assume the authors first language is not English as the grammar and spelling mistakes almost make this unreadable .Missing words and the repeated use of "chocking" or "Ghetto " instead of get up ie "What are you doing in that ghetto ? " ,unfinished sentences that make no sense .Every single page has mistakes on it . Read one and you've read them all . They "slam" their cocks in to the women ,virgin or sore doesn't matter because they "need " to fuck them . They shove their cocks down their throat even knowing they have never had sex ,they slap them to the ground if they so much as look at them wrong . They give them a forced orgasm and then each and every time the author decides that these abused women then decide they "love" their captors They are never allowed out again. These books are a study in mental illness and abuse and the saddening thing is that this review almost makes them sound interesting .Trust me ,they are not . These aren't "dark" they are "pathetic".
My first but certainly not my last EL Beth book. Wowwwww I loved this. She really knows how to fill her books with drama and excitement. Joshua was horrid in a lot of ways but my lord his dirty talk was amazing. I’m now headed to binge all of her books!
I had a whiplash reading this book. Cheating hero, Clingy heroine. S.U.C.K.E.D!!
Two Best Scenes in the book :
1.) He points a finger at his cheek and says “Here” and she kisses him there. No matter how angry she is at him. Then she kisses wherever he points his finger. That’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever read in a romance. 2.) Oh his dirty talk.. soo sexy. His commands to take his cock out.. to put it in.. it was soo damn hot. I get it why every girl wants to fuck him, madly.
For starters I couldn’t put the book down.
If I read this book last year.. I would have complained about his cheating.. fucking every woman that approached him throughout the book.
But I feel soo dead inside reading about a cheating main character.. I feel nothing now.. he can fuck anyone he wants for all I care
but
it gets awful when the Heroine thinks she’s sooo blindly in love, that she fucks him just after he has gotten his dick wet from another woman. Some SELF-RESPECT girl! For god sake!!
He is honest to her that he doesn’t want to marry her because will surely cheat on her. Makes sense. But her insistence to marry her was over the top.
Oh I don’t like it when girls have tricks up their sleeves to manipulate the hero to get back to them. I hated the games she played to get his attention.
Their sex is repetitive. They have a pattern. Too redundant for me.
This is my favorite from the author i love all her books are different but this is the best .Yes she may be taken but she isn’t weak she fights back and gives him hell you will love and enjoy this book oh this is a very happy ending that you prolly won’t expect

If you like needless cheating (it was pretty gross at times) and physical abuse this book is for you! Obviously English is not the author’s first language which is not a problem. Maybe it is cultural differences that came through. Just bc the H is OTT jealous does not make the story line okay.
The author made h into a cartoon character in the beginning and went on too long. The H was a d-grade cheap villain/anti hero character
The book was way too long. The angst was hit or miss.
I have re read this many time..I loved this book...just think about this...an Assassin and an Nun...Emelia is so innocence she does not know about the outside world, she meets up with Joshua an uber over the top alpha, what a journey this book was , full of angst and heartbreak (not for everyone) because he is one rough man...please read warning of her other books....there are OW and it just made me cry for her...but I love this book and I'm sure I will read this again this year:))
What is this terrible story? The betrayal is endless. I think it will extend even after their marriage. The heroine does not have common sense. Are the nuns that naive? The answer is no. I think she is mentally retarded or something like that, and she fell into abuse.
I came back to complete it just because I didn’t want to leave it uncompleted.
Or maybe I thought that it’ll get better.
The level of abuse in this book was just too much. I kept waiting for her to grow a spine but instead she fell in love with him when he didn’t even try to earn her affection.
He cheated on her at every turn but he drew a line when she tried to move on(not that she tried hard enough either) but still…
The men who sleep around without remorse are really the worst , yet she rewarded him with love, loyalty and a child.
There was nothing redeeming about this man, she just loved him for existing and adding a child to that mix when she’s not even figured out a way to defend herself was just “awesome” NOT!!
Same book repeatedly! The author literally just writes the same story and characters over and over, only changing their names. Complete rip off. I read Skyes Heart and Caged and while they were seriously badly written because the author uses he instead of her, him should be her etc, she doesn't even know the difference between 'here' and 'hear' or 'their, there and there'! The books aren't even proof read to find the many basic mistakes littering every page.
Do I bought this Blacks Brothers series and the Burn My Love four book series and was that ever huge mistake! They are all the exactly the same. Complete boring rip off! And the writing actually got worse, the drama queen style abuse and violence was horrible and ridiculous how the heroines get up again after being brutally raped and beaten unconscious. But they can get up and argue. Eye roll. So annoying OTT writing.
Another example of the drama queen writing was the unbelievable and ridiculous way Cat, a loving caring, independent woman who wasn't a Virginia told Em the Virginia raped in this by the male lead, that she didn't know why the virginal Em bled after being raped. The author literally has her character completely changing and saying something stupid and untrue thor has Cat, an experienced woman of the world tells the innocent virgin she didn't know why she bled, just to keep abuse scenes and angst going, instead of reassuring her that it was normal to bleed the first time you have sex and would of course be normal given her first time was a violent rape.
I like a dark read but this ridiculous OTT drama queen writing and stupid behaviour of characters was really bad. If you have read one book by this author then you have read them all. Don't waste your time. The books get worse the more of them you read because it's just lazy coping with no care made by the author to put in any effort at all to change the story from the previous one she wrote and no effort or care put in to doing even a basic re-read to spot the many basic mistakes that fill.every page.
It is such a pity because there were definitely elements of the hero and heroine's darker romance that were enjoyable to read. But there's dark then tjeres too violent and too brutal, which is seriously off-putting. The heavy handed brutality of the author's male leads, her lack of care and simply repeating of the same cloned characters, the same setting and the same story, all really made this boring and not enjoyable on the whole. 1 stars.
My favorite Alpha Joshua Black, Gorgeous assassin, loyal to his Brothers and a mess he can't stop his feelings for Emillia the Nun who he was suppose to kill but couldn't, he doesn't know what to with her so he keeps her hidden from his mafia boss who wants her dead, with his friend & partner Ed's help..she is feisty so she doesn't make it easy on them.
Emillia was raised in a convent, so is extremely naive & innocent, all she ever wanted to be was a Nun..now all she wants is to be married.
Yes Joshua is a prick that won't commit and he is hard on her but he does adore her, he just can't be what she needs..he thinks he is doing her a favor by letting her go but his jealousy knows no bounds.
Emillia is in one mess after another that Joshua has to save her from.
Not gonna sugar coat their relationship or that Joshua didn't stepped over the line but to me with his horrible childhood, occupation(mafia), hangups, prison time that any relationship wouldn't be a bed of roses.
Their story and Sebastian & Cat's continues in Book three.. Book one The Escort is Sebastian & Cat Book Four is their older Brother Brian Book Five is Ed & Hazel
Warning! This is not for everyone, but it is for ME and I loved it. Emilia and Joshua That’s what this is about and frankly, they will be one of my favorite couples FOREVER!
Emilia is a nun - well, she tries so hard to be. Joshua is everything dark and twisty and his job is to kill this nun. I think Emilias job is to kill Joshua’s life. Seriously, she is something else. She is a handful, and her comments are hilarious (had me giggling).
Don’t let the laughter make you think this is tame. This book- this series is not tame and be warned that it is not for the faint at heart. So sign me up, because that is just what I want!
This is the beginning to Emilia and Joshuas adventures, and yes I wanted to scream because there is bad behavior and betrayal and all that goes along. But, it’s just getting started so brace yourselves for the next book!
5 ⭐️ for book and 10 stars ⭐️ for Hero
