Surprisingly great original story!

I give this book a solid four star rating. At first, was bummed because I didn't realize this was going to be a story about zombies. However, I kept reading on and soon became thoroughly engrossed in this book. I soon found out that it is not another book about zombies, but an original tale of the future of mankind unlike anything written before. I found myself emotionally invested to the characters and unable to put the book down. I highly recommend this book!

This book had absolutely everything I've been looking for. Not only was it full of adventure...it contains every descriptive word possible that connects with you in an emotional and mental level far beyond any book was able to provide for me. It had passion, fear, love, violence, mind-blowing details and it gave inquisitive thoughts about how energy surges into a variety of matters within humanity, but specifically within the main characters of course. Mac (Aaron) and Bonnie were by far my favorite of several characters introduced in the book. I enjoyed seeing how their relationship formed even in the smallest of details. I was able to connect with these two characters instantly. Bonnie really came a long way as she got stronger mentally, emotionally and physically without seeming like a machine. Aaron on the other hand, is without a doubt bad ass 'human' machine as I like to describe. Oh yea, those erotic scenes are pretty fantastic if you ask me. This book is on a high level mentally so always keep an open mind when reading this post apocalyptic book. Yea, I know, my first thought was, "hmm... If it's not about zombies, then what the hell could it possibly be?", well open this book and you'll be taken into another world far beyond what you may think. I'll definitely read this book again as it's challenging and enticing! I recommend this for anyone who's into SciFi added with a little bit of everything for everyone.

Really 3.5. I had a problem in just the first few chapters. After terrifying events, people take a casual approach to leaving the house. Perhaps it was the author's choice of words, or maybe I didn't catch the fear, but it seemed unrealistic behavior. Also a little to much time is spent explaining feelings.
The central sci fi idea is good and this part worked. A interesting take!

A friend of my recommended this book to me, and I'm so happy that she did. This book was incredible from start to finish. The characters are very well fleshed out and the story was great. :D It reminded me a bit of something that Michael Crichton would write. Very good book!
