In the darkness of interplanetary space out beyond the orbit of Pluto, the Enterprise Space Shuttle II glided outward into the darkness. The sun was a small but still very bright point of light behind her. The shuttle's white hull contrasted with the darkness around her as she drifted forward in the dim twilight. Out ahead of her; lay a dark mountain sized chunk of twisted metal that once had been part of a massive spaceship. The ship had been blown apart by a powerful explosion that had ripped through steel beams and deck plates, and set this piece spinning off into deep space, only now it wasn’t tumbling any more. It sat perfectly still, aligned with the stars. Cautiously, the Enterprise moved slowly toward the wreckage and opened her gun ports. It has been twenty years since the Trannodom invasion of Earth, and the Trannodoms are coming back. Faced with the threat of a second invasion fleet, a desperate decision is made, to send a fleet into space to stop the Trannodom fleet before it can reach Earth. Lacking both time and spacecraft, in her hour of greatest need, Earth calls upon the great naval ships of history. Aircraft carriers, battleships and nuclear submarines are hastily rebuilt and upgraded with alien technology to become The First Expeditionary Force of Earth.

Enjoyable Scifi

I liked the1st book, but this was a much better sequel, more action, really more of everything that I liked about the previous book, with less of the things I found annoying.

There are some minor spelling errors but not very many, and does not distract from the story, which I enjoyed immensely. Can't wait for the next book, and keep up the good work!
