After spending her life cursing her powers and running away from the prophecy, Hailey is finally ready to accept that she's the only one capable of defeating the Olympians. With the help of her friends and the military, Hailey enters the battle to fight for her world's freedom. But the gods aren't working alone. They have armies of nymphs, monsters, and Olympian Mysteries protecting them. Taking them down isn't going to be as easy as Hailey thought, especially when they appear to be immune to her powers. But she's willing to do whatever it takes to save her world, even if it means sacrificing her own life.
As I got closer and closer to the end, I didn’t want it to end. Just one more year at Poseidon academy please. I loved this series and couldn’t put it down. I loved the characters and how no matter what they did, the always found themselves in some sort of trouble. Only down fall, I would have loved to see more of the gods after their capture.

What a rush. This is book 5 in the Poseidon Academy series and what an ending to a truly spectacular series.
Hailey has come in to her own and my gosh does she take the hits. The gods are awake and they are taking over the world, her world, and she refuses to take it lying down, despite her fear and lack of belief in her own abilities. Gotta love the reluctant hero.
Some of the main things I love and adore about this book:
🌍 The world building is amazing. Based on the Ancient Greek mythos, the author has lots of fun with her Demi-gods and their powers.
🦸♀️ The heroines journey over the hero’s journey, with the main character being stronger with those around them. And they are all so amazing and incredible. Brash Demi, reluctant Alec, soldier Aaron just to name a few.
🤰The presence of parents. So many books aimed toward a younger readership go the often easier route of orphan main characters and leave adults out of it. I love how adults are involved and play their own vital parts in this book even more than the previous instalments.
✍️ The writing itself. It is beautiful and pulls you through the story in an exciting and rhythmic way.
If you aren’t a fan of middle school and young adult books, then maybe this series isn’t for you. But even as an older reader I truly enjoyed the immersive brilliance of this book and the entire series.

This is it, the final battle is here. Hailey, her friends, and her allies must all go up against the Olympians in order to save the world. They must go on missions and into battle, they must be strategic and also strong. So how does the book fare?
Honestly, and unfortunately, I was disappointed. The book in general is not very thrilling. Most of what the characters attempt end up in a big failure, so it tends to get annoying, whereas not enough time is spent with the Olympians themselves, so it feels like we don't really get to see the villains themselves shine, or even villains from previous books such as Venus, Nerissa, Cleo and Nova, who get given very little time (plus Mute, introduced in the last book as Nova's partner, is completely absent here). There's also an obnoxiously large amount of times focusing on the whole crush between Hailey and Aaron, which started fresh out of nowhere in the last book and continues here in full, to my extreme annoyance, because as I said in my review of last book, I find teenage romance to be just obnoxious, no matter how it's written. I'm reading a book about fantasy adventure, I don't want there to be an inordenate amount of focus on two kids feeling funny around each other. One could make a drinking game of how many times Hailey feels "flutters" and "tingles" and how many times Aaron looks awkward when around each other, and you'd end up plotzed before long. Those really got very annoying, very fast.
Mind you, there were some good scenes here and there, including a fun encounter with a winged beast that I did not expect and some very smart thinking in battling it, but the book needed more like that, the exciting bits for a good chunk of the book were few and far betweem. But then comes a twist later in the book. I won't spoil it here, but it really sparked my interest and added very welcome unexpected characters to the proceedings. Afterwards, the good guys get ready for the battles against the Olympians. We get to see a few, and though they're a bit jumbled and chaotic due to the sheer amount of combatants, I didn't mind it. They were fun, thrilling, and we got to see a good number of characters in action, with great use of powers (with Tahlia once again being awesome and easily one of their best assets in battle, and minor character Zara making great use of her fun power), basically everyone getting at least one chance to shine, bad guys being battled and taken down. I really enjoyed these battles, the book was shaping up for a great finale.
And then, unfortunately, the final battle (on top of how we never see or hear about two gods being defeated) was a disappointment. Yeah, it raised the stakes, there were some not entirely unexpected swerves (including an entirely predictable and unceremonious death and the character barely being mourned or even remembered afterwards), but it all just felt dull, especially when compared to the fun and exciting battles that came before it. The entire final battle felt underwhelming, and the epilogue afterwards feels more like an after-thought. Not to mention what the author does in regards to certain characters who have died before. I kinda get what she was going for, but honestly, it feels more like a form of disrespect to the characters' memory, especially when it comes to a last minute couple, combined with a pretty darn bitchy comment by Demi. Yeah, that one has to be my last complaint of the book, Demi herself. I don't think I ever commented on her specifically, but in my opinion, she was the worst character since book one, being an impulsive, overconfident, braindead idiot who got on my last nerve waaaaay too many times to count. I just couldn't with her.
I feel like I'm being too harsh on this book, but I just expected something more fun and thrilling after what were four enjoyable previous books that I gave positive ratings and reviews to. Still, despite the final book being disappointing, I overall enjoyed this series in general. The author created a very unique modern world with very prevalent Greek mythology, and the way she set up superpowers in this world and its people is one of the most fun I've seen in a very long time. I genuinely hope she can write another series, if not a sequel then at least a spin-off focusing on different characters; there were plenty of fun secondary and minor characters in the school who could well be given the chance to have their own adventures, just hopefully with no romance to take away from the fun. Overall, I'm glad I bought and read this full series.
It was a wonderful series overall but I particularly liked this one the most. I read it about 3 times so far finishing it in about a day. I love the character Aaron and the character Demi the most but all the characters are amazingly thought out and unique. I saw Demi getting a lot of hate as I looked at previous reviews so I want to tell you why I like her. She’s care free and different and while some people call her ignorant and proud I disagree she is proud but she isn’t ignorant. I also want everyone to put into account that by the last book all of her family has been taken so it is normal for her to be stressed. I love this book and would recommend this book to anyone who loves Greek mythology.

This book is so good!!!!!!!!!!! It's my favorite out of the whole series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the action and battle scenes and such a brilliant closing to this amazing series (though I still want another book)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I definitely recommend reading these books!!!!!!!! I have reread it like 10+ times
Ok, I said it before and I will say it again... This young lady is a freaking awesome story teller!! Thought I would be going to sleep with these books but... I was pleasantly surprised about captivating the characters were. Nice job!!
I came out of this series feeling vaguely disappointed/dissatisfied. I had high hope for this series, but it went downhill after the first 3 novels. It was repetitive and I felt like it was just a lot of sitting around and waiting
Saying that, there was a lot of good- great- things in it.
I just love this series, it has beautiful writing, Greek mythology, teens destined to save the world and the tiniest bit of romance. So Sarah please do another Poseidon's academy book please I just love this series! 🙏
