Must Be Nice is the story of college seniors hurtling towards graduation and the real world beyond it. They must cope as both their beer league softball season and collegiate reality come to inevitable and unforgettable conclusions.
This book is well written, witty, and I couldn't put it down. 'Must Be Nice' is an amazingly accurate portrayal of the modern college experience for most of Americas young adults teetering between the sheltered academic existence and that of looming inevitability and vulnerability of the real world. The cast of characters from all walks of life come together to make this an unforgettable story of friends, memories, and life.
Anthony is brilliant- I was not able to put this book down. Everything you say is so raw and true- right down to the paste of spilt beer and mud on the floor of Louies. The voice is remarkably witty, as can be expected, and I find myself laughing unreservedly at parts. We have all experienced college but no one could tell it like Anthony can. I highly recommend reading this book- you will quickly be absorbed in the humorous, but often reflective, characters as they embark on a new journey after college.
Very entertaining and well written! I was especially struck with the metaphor referring to college as, "a hearty entree of independence topped with thrilling exhilaration and drizzled in a cheap beer sauce, served with sides of academic responsibility, personal growth, and maturation. Many have tasted this meal with different results." The stories that follow had me doubled over in laughter and wishing I could have been there to see it happen. The people are captured remarkably well, and if you are privileged enough to know them, it makes the experience even sweeter. A great read!
