Directing Claire--Shara Lanel: Devon Marceau, Special Agent for the FBI, thinks horoscopes are a crock, especially this morning's, which tells him that today he'll find love. Yeah, right! Forget love, just give him Scott Creighton, the big bad he's been chasing for years. It looks like the man's about to slip through Devon's fingers again, unless he can convince his sexy receptionist to take on a role that certainly is not in her job description. Claire Reed is a writer and a romantic, so when her horoscope tells her to take a risk, she steps up to the challenge. Sure, she can play the lead starlet in a porn movie, even though she's never acted before. Especially if that means starring opposite her sexy boss, Devon. What she doesn't bargain for are the men with guns watching her every move and getting far too engrossed in their little performance, or how far she and Devon might have to go to keep Creighton from suspecting a set-up. Good thing kissing Devon in her underwear is such an enjoyable activity, even with the cameras rolling. Heart's Desire--Mackenzie Reed: It's been three years since Cassidy DeWitt has seen Nicholas Kinkaide. Three years since the man she loved wholeheartedly had made passionate love to her under the stars, taken her home, and then vanished into thin air. Her heart in pieces, Cassidy isn't prepared for Nicholas's return or his explanation for where he's been. When Nicholas sets eyes on Cassidy again, his heart races, and his body responds. Too bad she's mad as hell and won't listen to his explanation about where he's been the past three years. The night he and Cassidy affirmed their love for each other, Nick's life changed forever--butnot in the way he expected. Even now, Nick knows what he did was right, but it cost him the most precious thing: Cassidy. Now he's back and he plans to court the lady of his desire and win her back. With a little help from Madame Zorkoff, the carnival fortuneteller, Nicholas storms the walls of Cassidy's heart. Will this stubborn Gemini learn to love his Aquarian hide once again or are they doomed to be apart forever?

At age ten, Shara Lanel thought research meant hopping aboard the local steam engine and writing the equivalent of The Great Train Robbery. Nowadays as a multi-published, award-winning author, she gets hands-on research at her local Citizens’ Police and Fire Academies. She’s much better at walking down the side of a building than she is at firing a gun, but she swears her characters are great shots, hitting the bulls-eye with the villains and the heart. Don’t put her in the kitchen unless you want to burn it down, and her green thumb is hit-or-miss, but she excels as a bibliophile, hoping she never has to pack up and move, since her hubby might see just how many volumes she really has.

I read this on Kindle without checking the genre first. Boy did I blush :-)

Taking the stories on their narrative merit then both are solid - the first was an interesting FBI Sting that almost went tits up (literally) and was an interesting read.

The 2nd was not so strong as the story was less realistic (yep, even less realistic than an FBI Porn film unit) and the ending was obvious from the start.

I'd give the first tale 4 stars and the second one 2 - so an average of 3
