Good, informative book. If you're considering getting certified for diving, I would recommend reading this first. I was on information overload when I was going through certification. Also, if you're considering learning how to scuba on your next vacation in one of those "here's what you need to know during the 30 minute ride in the boat to the reef", I would definitely recommend to read this book first. That sort of orientation can be very dangerous, as it's not thorough enough.
A very educational book for the beginning diver. This covers most of the information one should be familiar with when embarking on scuba training and experiences as one advances. Having been bitten by the bug many years ago but only recently becoming certified, I enjoyed this book and will get the most recent edition to have handy as reference.
I hope this is the right book. If not it was one by the same title. I didnt get certified. I missed the last 4 classes (the teacher wouldnt let me make up the 4th to last class) and then wouldnt let me continue the class....grr. I HAD to work that day. A students gotta eat??? What an ass.
I've been diving for 40 some years now. An excellent review. The only thing left out was surface air systems which have become popular but follow the same rules.
This was a good text for my scuba class. SCUBA is amazing and I would recommend taking the class and getting certified to anyone. It is an incredible experience.
