Mr. Wright Forever

Rate this book
What do you do when your life turns inside out? You build a new life, baby.

When Nelena returned from Vegas, she returned to a crappy apartment with a crushed heart. So, when the opportunity to move to a new city came, she jumped on it fast and hard. Moving to Chicago was a breeze, setting up her new life with her best friend in toe wasn’t a hardship, either.

Coming face-to-face with the man who owned her soul and crushed her heart—that was the definition of hard.

When Kade realizes Nelena is in his city, he sets out with the intent to seduce her. And when he finally gets Nelena in his bed, beneath him, he thinks he’s won. But Nelena doesn’t intend for this night to extend beyond the now. For her, it’s goodbye.

The two enter a game of cat and mouse as Kade works to capture her heart and Nelena fights against the submission. But goodbye isn’t so easy when the heart wants more.

And the rules of now don’t apply when forever is on the table.

Born and raised in Alberta, Canada, Alannah Carbonneau is only a short drive away from the Rocky Mountains that have a staring place in so many of her novels. With seventeen novels and counting currently available on Amazon, Alannah is not only a full-time author, but a full-time mom of two beautiful boys, and wife to an amazing man who always has her back. She lives in a rambling ranch house that needs way too many renos and has one too many cats, but she is happy and in love.

With a solid circle of friends and family, and a very manly, supportive husband who does his best to make sure his family is taken care of, Alannah’s novels feature manly men (sometimes they can be a LOT manly) and friend/family relationships weaved into the stories, because life is about a whole mess of people, and although this is fiction, the best fiction is sprinkled with sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) bits of reality.

Because she loves romance, Alannah writes Contemporary and New Adult Romance. Soon to be released is the Creekwood Valley Series that has ties to the reader beloved Donnelley Brother Series, where light suspense and romance weave to create titillating stories that not only steal your heart but keep you on the edge of your seat. She is the author of the highly rated Teach Me Series, an emotional read about love, life and lessons learned. Our Dark Design is a standalone erotic romance peppered with enough suspense to keep you turning the pages, and The Choice is an entirely unconventional standalone romance about three.

She is currently working on a Cross World Fantasy Romance Series for Adults she can’t wait to share with you, because this will feature hot men who are a little bit dominant and a lot protective who are head over heels in love with stubborn, magnificent women.

When Alannah isn’t writing or spending time with her three men, she can be found in her garden, or with a paint brush in hand. But no matter where she is or what she’s doing, you can bet that she’s thinking of a love story she can share with you.

In Book One, Mr. Wright Now, Nelena goes to Vegas for fun without commitment. She meets Kade and they decide to enjoy each other’s company during her stay. But, as we all know they fall hard for each other. Kade hurts Nelena and was too late in reaching out to her.

KADE: “Nelena,” he tightened his hold on me. “You aren’t listening to me. I love you. I’m in love with you. I want it all, sweetheart, and I’m sorry I hurt you. Just don’t go – don’t go.”

When Kade decides to go after Nelena and gets a call from his mom beckoning him to her. She is sick and she needs him. Fate has intercepted their path to reuniting. I cried and anxiously waited for Book 2.

Here it is! Book 2, Mr. Wright Forever and I loved it!!!

Nelena can’t stop thinking about Kade:
“Kali had tried to dress me in red – but red reminded me of Kade. No way was I making a move toward my future with that man lingering in the back of my mind.”

And Kade can’t stop thinking about Nelena:
“I’ve never known a woman to follow me into my dreams.”
“There’s something to be said about a woman who can infect your soul, so impossibly deep, that you can do nothing at all to work her from your system. I’ve tried. I’ve tried to forget her.”

Book 2 starts with Nelena getting ready to embark on a new journey with a dream come true job offer. What better way to nurse a broken heart; start a brand new life. But, fate had other plans or did it? This story captured me from beginning to end. When Nelena and Kade find each other again, things are not easy. But, when your love is true and you get a second chance; you work for it. Kade is set on winning her back. I won’t give away what happens. But, it unfolds beautifully. One of my favorite characteristics of Kade is his loyalty; even though he is not with Nelena he remains true to her.

This story is beautifully written and the events unfold smoothly. The ending has my heart fluttering. Alannah Carbonneau has written another great story. I was provided with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Reviewed by Sharon Thérèse Nuttall on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever

I really enjoyed the first book in this series so when I was given the opportunity to read the follow-up, I was over the moon. However, as I became more invested in Kade and Nelena’s story, something didn't quite seem to fit. Where had that super-hot, gorgeous Alpha male disappeared to. He’d become kind of mellow, more your run of the mill guy with those good looks and missing all that hotness he'd had in Vegas.

Once bitten, twice shy; Nelena’s Las Vegas holiday was exactly what she needed. Letting her hair down and having a good time with her bestie in Vegas wasn’t on the cards but just before tying the knot, she discovers her sister and fiancé had been going at it! So off the girls trot to "sin city." There she has a no strings attached fling with professional dancer, Kade, which suits him fine, too...how could it not?

Neither were banking on their steamy but short affair ending the way it did. She goes back to Edmonton, Alberta. He goes to Chicago for a pressing family issue. Then at the beginning of book two, we get to meet Kade’s mother. I could see the author had gone to great lengths in developing her character. She comes over as the strong successful business woman which she is, and I really liked her son’s relationship with her. Well done here Ms Carbonneau. You hit her personality on the nail. And this lady has something brewing that made me think how on earth she found out about her son’s affair in the first place. The whys, wherefores and reasons for doing what she did is unravelled in a plot well-written; nevertheless, there were times when I got a tad exasperated with the two protagonists. There was too much hemming and hawing on both parts and not enough action for me. Here we have a guy with the world at his feet, well-educated, a man of the world and he's doubting himself! When he does make his mind up, it’s only because he questions himself after chatting with a friend. At times, I wanted to jump into my Kindle and give Lena a good telling off when she's wallowing in self-pity. How she lets off steam made me smile in it's originality and I easily related to her culinary ways. Saying that, I really connected with her regardless of her indecisiveness and was so pleased she was going to give Kade a run for his money.

A scene in the book made me think what it is we all have about lifts. Elevators! Some of the biggest one-liners are said as the doors shut in the face of someone wanting to say more and here, the author didn’t let me down. The quote below really hit home!

Nelena ~ “I said stay away from me, Kade. I’ve never been more serious in my life. I’m here for a job – not you.”

To sum up this read. I adored both points of view. Kade is a beautiful soul who doesn’t have a bad streak in him. And although Nelena’s stronger than before, she still needed a push in the right direction. The secondary characters I liked immensely, but the story’s flow could have been a little quicker. I do recommend reading this book because it’s beautifully written and well worth reading.

MR WRIGHT FOREVER.

Alannah Carbonneau has done it again she's given us another heartbreakingly beautiful story.

Nelena in book one was left heartbroken by her one true love, he left her a shattered broken mess.

In book two you see Nelena pull herself back together after landing her dream job, there's a catch to the job though, she has to leave Edmonton, Alberta the place she was born and raised where her best friend Kali and family reside and move across country to Chicago.

In true Kali form she makes it clear to Nelena that where she goes so does she. (
Unbeknown to Nelena a massive twist of fate would bring her back together in the same city as Kade.(Her North)

The love between these two is breathtaking, they are obsessed with each other.

"How can love be love when it's bordering on obsession?  Because that's what this is with Kade - I am obsessed."

"I don't know how i can have you so much and still feel so completely consumed by you." -Kade

Although she fell hard and fast in the first book she tries not to let her heart rule her head. She needs to be more careful with her fragile heart. One more break and there may be no coming back from this.

Kade has to prove his love to Nelena, he has his work cut out, she's not the push over she once was.

"I had to get upto my penthouse and scheme my way back into her life. I knew that i had my work cut out for me, but i couldn't stop playing Sarah's words in my mind. If i had the power to make her cry tears so passionately, than i had the power to make her smile with that same intense passion.

Can they really truly move forward though when Kade is still hold secrets back from Nelena?

Will she be able to truly get over Kade not coming after her?

Is a new job enough to make Nelena stick around, after she was jooped to get her there?

This book deals with heartbreak,  Friendships, Love, family,  loyalty and betrayal.

And in true Alannah form nothing is ever plain sailing when hearts are involved.

I don't want to give too much away, yous need to read this book. I seriously loved the ending, alannah never disappoints me.

I can't wait to read more, fantastic books to come.

OMG Alannah has hit another home run with Mr. Wright Forever! There is something that grabs me about the way Alannah writes. Her books just suck you right in from the very first page. I found that I just didn't want to put this book down.

Mr Wright Forever picks up a few weeks after Mr. Wright and just seeing what Kade and Nelena go through emotionally from being apart is heart breaking. There were time I felt like I was going through everything they were. I just wanted to jump through the pages and give them hugs.

Nelena receives the chance of a life time by being offered her dream job in interior design. However the only catch is the job is in Chicago. Nelena uses this job opportunity as a way to start over from the heart break she suffered when she left Vegas and Kade.

Kade who has left Vegas to go take care of his sick mother is also suffering from letting Nelena go because he finally realizes that he is capable of love. However he doesn't know how to get Nelena back.

Will Kade and Nelena make there way back to each other or is Mr. Wright really Mr Wrong for Nelena?

This is the second book in the Wild Card series by Alannah Carbonneau and it’s a continuation of Nelena and Kade’s story. Nelena has gone home to Canada to try and mend her broken heart, while Kade has gone home to his ill mother. Nelena receives an offer for a dream job, but the only catch is that that she will have to relocate to Chicago. Well, can you think of a better way to move on with your life and maybe, just maybe, start living again? Little does she know that this decision will put her directly in the path of the one man she is trying so desperately to forget.

"It takes ages of rights to correct a moment of wrong.” I think we all can relate to this particular statement. I felt like Alannah Carbonneau depicted this sentiment beautifully in describing how Kade was trying repeatedly to correct his moment of wrong.

I have to say that I absolutely LOVED Kali and really wanted more of her in the story. Her character would literally make me laugh out loud with some of the things that come out of her mouth.

I give Mr. Wright Forever 3.5 stars.

I loved book one of this series Mr Wright Now and was very excited to read the conclusion of the story. I was not disappointed!

Alannah Carbonneau has done it again, she has written a really good ending to Kade and Neleena's story. I couldn't put it down.

Kade wants to go after Neleena but circumstances work against him and he has to return home after some band news. Fate, or at least his mother, negotiate to get them together again. Will true love run smoothly?

The story runs straight on where book 1 left off, without prevarication, so it meant you got straight back into it. As with all Alannah's books it is well written and fluent. The story keeps you interested till the end. I was desperate to know what happened, did they work out their problems....was love enough to heal wounds? I loved how Kade was determined to win Neleena back, he has found his true love and will do anything for her.

Another lovely romantic story from Alannah about love, loss and hope. A definite read.

What a great continuation of Mr. Wright Now! Alannah Carbonneau has a way of pulling you in from the very first page. Kade and Nelena's story picks up right where it left off in Mr. Wright Now. The stakes are high, the emotions are flowing, taking you on a wild ride of ups and downs. I love Nelena's personality. Her spirit is strong, yet loving and gentle. She possesses something that more people need...the ability to forgive freely. Kade, where to start with him. He is what every woman wants in a man all wrapped up in a package of perfection. He fights for what he wants, yet he loves deeply. I don't want to give anything away, but I will tell you this, If you haven't read this series, what are you waiting for? You won't be disappointed!

I got Mr. Wright Forever by Alannah Carbonneau as an ARC and I was so thrilled as I loved the first book Mr. Wright Now. This book was a great conclusion to Kade and Nelena’s story. So this book starts a few weeks later and Nelena has an interview that will take her to Chicago and completely change her life. I love that even though Kade is trying to take care of his mother he has realized Nelena is his true love, but unsure of himself on how to let her know this and make her his. You have to read this book and see how they get back together this is a 5 star book.

This is the 2nd and final book in A Wild Card Series and should be read in order.

Just when Nelena Price (Lena) thought she found the man she’d love forever he broke her already fragile heart. She landed her dream job but that meant moving to Chicago and starting over again with her best friend Kali. Just as things started to settle down for Lena, Kade Wright, the man who shattered her heart. Will these two be able to work things out or will this send Lena back home as she tries to protect her heart?

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lena has learned that she can’t always trust her heart or her head. She thought that Kade was different then her ex-fiancé Bryon but he actual broke her heart much more than Bryon. Lena did her best to move on as she did before and this new job opportunity was just the way to make a fresh start. The untainted opinions that Lena has was just what Ms. Blithe needed for her newest building. Lena has a stubborn and independent side but her kind caring side is the one that everyone loves about her. She always takes the time to talk to ones around her. When Kade shows back up in her life, she finds it hard to be around him but and the same time she wants nothing more than to be in his arms.

Kade was all set to get Lena back when his mother called to let him know that she was diagnosed with cancer. Instead of fighting for the woman he was in love with, he went to the one person who was always there for him and loved him unconditionally. Much to his surprise while having brunch with his mother, the woman whom held his heart showed up. The alpha male in him wanted to claim her for his own but the hurt in her eyes stopped him. Kade is a strong determined man who knows what he wants and goes after it. The only downfall was that Kade had been hurt before and that pain was still close to the surface.

The conclusion to Lena and Kade’s story was very fitting. I love that Lena just didn’t let anyone walk all over her. She protected her heart even though it still belonged to Kade. She stayed true to her stubborn independent self, most of the time but Kade didn’t give up and her heart was wanting him more than anything. You have to admire Kade for standing by his mom when she need him but she also knew that he needed to heal and find love again. The chemistry between Lena and Kade never fails and whether they’re fighting or making up you just can’t help but be drawn in. Alannah wrote an awesome conclusion for Lena and Kade’s story and never failed at keeping her readers on their toes!

5 Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review!!!

After having her heart broken for the second time; Nelena was moving on to her dream job and a new City. However; was there more to her sudden job offer in Chicago? Had she truly got over Kade; was Kade still in love with Nelena?

Alannah Carbonneau put a great twist onto the conclusion of Kade and Nelena’s story. I was hooked from the very beginning. The suspense and tension built with every page turn; along with the need to know where the story was going and what was going to happen next. Nelena’s character has certainly grown from the first book; she had grown more confident in herself and regardless of her heartache she was determined to live her life. I loved Kade even more in this book; he recognised his mistakes and when given his second chance he was determined to prove how much Nelena meant to him; without a doubt he had me swooning. This story brings a lot of closure, realisation and happiness for both Nelena and Kade. Without a doubt Alannah has written a truly beautiful, sexy and suspenseful romance; I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

If you love suspenseful, sexy romances you will love the A Wild Card Series from Alannah Carbonneau. I recommend reading Mr. Wright Now book #1 before reading Mr. Wright Forever.

Oh my word can this lady write !!!!

Yet again Alannah Carbonneau has given us a series that turns up the emotions and the heat, whilst also dealing with the rawness of heartache but believing in a forever love.

This is a wonderful story of how life can suddenly switch tracks and the line you believed you were on fades away into a new path with new adventure and love.

Nelena was supposed to get married, she was supposed to be marrying her Mr Right but the prince turned out to be a toad! Fleeing to Vegas she met her Mr Wright in the form of Kade, he was to be her carefree fling but everyone knows what happens in Vegas rarely stays in Vegas.
Or does it?
In this case what happened in Vegas spills over into Chicago! Can a one night stand become more than they ever imagined ?

" I'm tired of not living. I'm tired of living without the one person who makes the daily motions feel like life."

The second book in this series brings a fantastic close to Nelena and Kades story and it's one you don't want to miss out on. The epilogue is written in such a beautiful way and will make the most non believers of true love a convert !

Bravo Ms Carbonneau yet another fabulous 5* read, thank you for the pleasure.

Mr. Wright Forever

WOW, WOW, WOW. Alannah Carbonneau has done it again, she has gone above and beyond wit her writing again. Her writing oozes romance, and in the best saying 'simplicity'. Yes there is simplicity reading through her books, and Mr Wright Forever is the perfect ending to this series, I loved it.

Neleena and Kade are perfect characters, they both have there faults, who doesn't? But the question of whethere they end up together dingle dangles through the first half of the book.

Kade has his own personal hurdles to jump, he needs Neleena with him. He doesn't know this at first, but once he holds her hand, he never wants to let go. The question lingers, will Neleena want to hold on, or will she loose her grip of Kade again?

The ending of this book was perfect, it gave me the closure i needed for the end of this series, and I can't wait to see what Alannah has for us next.....

I loved Mr. Wright Forever this book was a great follow up from Mr. Wright Now.

Kade Wright broke Nalena’s heart and she is trying to move on. Nalena had met and fell in love with Kade after she had run away from her own wedding. Nalena found out that her sister had slept with her fiancé the before she was to be married. Nalena and Kali (her BFF) flew to Vegas and that is where Nalena met Kade.

Forward to Mr. Wright Forever: Blithe (Kade’s mother) hires Nalena for Nalena’s dream job. Kade is back in Chicago and living in one of the buildings his mother owns and that is where Nalena is to live there with her BFF. And, the story goes on from there.

Let me just say there are some real HOT & Steamy scenes in Mr. Wright Forever and Kade again shows his very “Alpha self”.

I got my HEA! I loved the story and I look forward to reading more from Alannah Carbonneau.

Mr. Wright Forever is book two in the A Wild Card Novel series. It keeps up where book one left off, you must read book one, Mr. Wright Now, first. Nelena is heart broken. She is coping with her break up and get a chance at a job of a lifetime.

Kade is not a complete jerk. He is has moved back to Chicago to be closer to his mom. Nelena is working in Chicago. Neither one knows the other is in Chicago. You know their paths are going to cross. When reading I kept guessing how they where going to meet up again. I never guessed who was behind their meeting up again. Nelena's heart in guarded this time and Kade has his work cut out for him.

It's a great read and you won't be disappointed.
