Fallon Harris doesn’t believe in soulmates. Because of her parents’ divorce, she is spending Christmas in the quaint town of Hollybright with her witchy friend, Hayden Tennison, and her friend’s estranged grandfather, Oddball Ozzie. Instead of going home, she’s helping out at Ozzie’s diner, dodging phone calls from her family, and running into the occasional stray wolf. Despite being homesick, Fallon is set on making this Christmas the best one yet. However, with three new and attractive strangers in town focused entirely on her, things get complicated. Dead deer appear on her lawn, the strangers are asking her about soulmates, and her friend’s family is clearly hiding something. When Hayden’s cousin shows up unannounced, the secrets continue piling up until it all inevitably comes crashing down. Will these strangers be able to work a Christmas miracle and change Fallon’s mind or will this Christmas go up in flames? One thing’s for certain, either way Fallon will be having herself a wolfy little Christmas.
No Spoilers * Clean* RH Shifter Festive Romance HEA ending
Firstly lovely cover that caught my eye and secondly the Author set out to pen a Hallmark Festive Tale and succeeded. The pacing is smooth and a story arc I enjoyed, I did wonder if it was part of an existing series with the depth of detail for some of the background characters.
Character flaws of the female lead I put down to her young age and lack of worldly experience, we are not all so lucky to live such a sheltered life. The Shifters I found were quite endearing and could have done with a little more development, Lumberjack in particular and his Wolf, that partnership was quite something. Would have liked to have read more from the Guys, little less pressure time wise and more explanation as I feel this book will appeal to the younger reader .
Some aspects of this read were deep and insightful but still managed to sustain the Hallmark airy lightness that keeps shadows at bay.
The lack of spice was not an issue, sometimes we want a sweet read to round off a hectic day with or an ideal RH introduction to the shy newbie.
I really liked the premise and how Fallon's human-ness was handled. She is, inadvertently, surrounded by supernatural beings. But at times she was a little too slow on the uptake for me. There was little drama near the end, which was handled very well. It is a sweet romance with mostly chaste kissing near the end.
I liked her mates and how patient they were, but they didn't explain things well. The insta-love was cheesy and over the top and felt more like we were told, not shown. But I liked all the banter between all the characters. The side characters really helped the story stay entertaining. Overall, it wasn't perfect but it was a nice story to start the year.
This was a sweet hallmark-esque book. Very light and sweet. Drove me absolute nuts because of absolutely zero steam, and the fmc kept running away and just whined. It still was a sweet book. I felt like cherry came out of nowhere and it didn’t make sense that she’d come visit. Kind of seemed like the author was grasping for what the conflict should be.
Not my typical spicy romance story but a sweet story about someone struggling in the holidays and meets her mates. Bobby Jo does a wonderful job with her literary craft! I can't wait for her next release! I would read this again so it gets 5 stars.
